Do you guys use the Porsche battery trickle charger or one from a different brand ?

The user's manual says the 12V power socket in the passenger's foot rest area switches off after 30 minutes. My car doesn't have the smoker's package with the additional socket. Do I need to plug directly into the battery in the frunk, or is there another way ?
