Is it me or do many dealerships have a serious lack of internal controls that enable some of their employees to commit fraud?

Yes, and not helped by the fact that Dealer principals don’t always understand the scope of work their CPA is engaged to perform during the tax preparation process. Too frequently, the Office Manager is blindly trusted and doesn’t receive proper oversight by the CPA. It’s no accident that sloppy books and fraud are often found together.

If a dealership had perfect internal controls, the office staff would double in size, which isn’t going to happen. However, there’s plenty a dealer can do to mitigate theft, and it starts with outside reviews and what’s called management’s “tone at the top.”

Champion and the BMW dealership cited are just the ones that caught media attention, and not because fraud is rare.

IHI

Not bad for 50. And she'll be real "enthusiastic" when she gets out in 30 months. Might even have learned a thing or two in the big house.

I said it a while back like on the first few pages. NO ONE including Porsche wants this thing to be public. They were happy to see this thread and all the attention to shift away. I guarantee that when/if he is found LOTS of people will be implicated in this mess and all the debauchery that is GT cars in the US

It’s much easier to hide when no ones looking for sure.

I agree 1000%. Not many looking hard. Insurance or whoever got the money back to the people violated so they have their $ back. Porsche got a few allocations to a couple of them and now EVERYONE wants this to be over.

I think this is likely the case ... finding him would expose more problems and fraud than not finding him.

He must be enjoying his life on the RUN! He should enjoy it while he can before he enters the big house.

Drive safe,
