My 3RS has the Dunlop’s not the Cup 2s. Should I ask them to switch tires to the Cup

So I saw my new car at the dealer today. It’s gorgeous. But noticed that it had the Dunlop sport Maxx instead of the Michelin cup 2s. Should I be disappointed and asked them to change the tires to the Michelin Cup2s?

I like the new Dunlops better than the MPSC2s on my .2 GT3. Seem to last longer before getting greasy and the wear seems to be more even.

Even if you asked, I doubt they would change them...well, not for free anyway. The dunlop's seem to be good...two guys at the track have them on their .2 GT3 and like them. No big difference in speed vs. the cup II guys...

Take the car to the track and use up the tires, then go buy some cup2's. Tires are nothing but consumables, if you use the car you'll need new tires soon enough.

bam! Great advice. I’ve always run Cup 2s and burnt through a lot of them; so would be interesting to see what the Dunlop’s would be like as comparison. Enjoy your new car, I doubt Porsche would put on crappy tires.

I am really hoping for Dunlops on my GT3 based on feedback here.

Try to burn them to the ground driving. Then decide which new tire you want.

I run Maxx 2s, they are good tires. Stop worrying and go drive the car.

You have a brand new GT3 RS. Congratulations and don't give a second thought to the tires.

Those are the special tires to handle the Motorsport derived engine.

No, but I would check the gas and make sure it's the blend you prefer. Don't settle.

Mine came with them too but they seem pretty gripping. Just burn through them and go with SC2

Had two new GT4s closely configured, one arrived with MPSC2 and the other Dunlop SportMAxxx so I had a great comparison with only the tire being different

I much prefer the Dunlops' grip but you will get a lot of road miles from the MPSC2 - which do you prefer, grip or longevity?

The Dunlops cost 50% more
