43 yrs - have and voted PDK...best transmisssion hands down for a dual purpose GT3. Moderate street use and track duty + without a trailer there’s no better transmission for that 2-5hr drive to the track! The 6MT is awesome as well though...

PDK on my recently traded GT3 and PDK on my Turbo S......64 years old.....my 993 is a 6MT...

I'm 62. The video says it all for me. It is amazingly gratifying to do a perfect rev match downshift (no Sport mode) for me. I understand the benefit's of PDK, as my DD is an Audi S6 with duel clutch. BTW, I competed in a PCA autox yesterday, and the 2 fastest GT3's (out of 10) were manuals.

Own Pdk and six speed in another marque. Love/respect both for what they are and I honestly enjoy my pdk gt3 as much as my six speed.

Looks like this is a topic across the board on car lines.

53, Manual fan. Just to throw a little more fuel on the fire, saw this article today (a couple interesting mentions of PDK vs Manual, but mostly about GT3 vs Lotus):

interesting to note that as of now, the results show that the 30-40 year old age group has the highest likelihood of choosing MT by a meaningful margin.

% Manual for each group:
20-30: 45%
30-40: 74%
40-50: 61%
50+: 65%

31. Went for MT.

So, as of today, the only conclusion I can make from the poll is that for buyers 30+ years old prefer manual over PDK (especially 30-40 year olds) and 20-30 year old buyers are split almost 50/50.

I'm guessing Porsche has done this market research (if not, they can thank the OP). If the pool results are indeed accurate, this is a big indicator that Porsche should keep the manual alive since the 30-40 year old segment is, by my own assumption, Porsche's most important age group.

43 and have a 997.1 GT3 and 2017 Corvette Grand Sport. Both Manual. I am a national level autocrosser and at the SCCA Solo National Championships last week I had the pleasure of taking some runs in my buddies 991.1 GT3 RS which was PDK. I'm sold, for all race applications PDK is faster. Manual is more fun for the street. I'll be getting an early 718 GT4 allocation and if PDK is an option that box will be checked.

Interesting data point: our pole above showed a 64% “take rate” for the manual transmission over the PDK here on Rennlist. Meanwhile according to this article...
https://tinyurl.com/ycsgj5nk
...the actual manual take rate for US 991.2 GT3s was 70%. So as a group Rennlist is not too far from the US average, the difference possibly down to a percentage of our members based outside the US (in areas with lower take rates).

I’ve often wondered if the enthusiasts we get here on Rennlist were skewed in some way as to not fully represent actual buyers. Apparently not by much, in this case at least.

Also of interest is this separate pole from early 2017 that showed closer to a 50/50 split:
https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3-...or-manual.html
So we didn’t predict the future take rate nearly as accurately. I wonder if that’s because some changed their minds? Or perhaps it was down to the fact that current owners are more likely to frequent the board than future owners, and at the time all current owners were by definition PDK drivers and hence skewed the sample?

Interesting data points either way. 70% is higher than I would have predicted, but it bodes very well for the future of the manual. Perhaps even well enough for Porsche to reconsider their stand on the 3RS and 2RS?

992 will now have a better chance of being last NA MT so take of that car will be interesting.
