Grew up in UK and so every car was a manual. First thing 18 year old boys do is learn to change gear without using clutch to speed up the process. Voted PDK but have never used it in pure auto mode - ALWAYS use the paddles. Just don’t have a need, want or urge to use a clutch anymore but would never drive a high performance sports car in auto / auto mode if you know what I mean?
Interstingly my Aprilia bike has quickshifter for both up and down shift - autoblips as well, my Ducati has quickshifter for upshifts only and my track bike, a GSXR 750, has no quickshifter at all but I still don’t use the clutch for upshifts, just roll off for a split second and notch it up between the dogs. I find it interesting that in both cars and bikes I minimize the use of the clutch but it doesn’t diminish my fun in any shape or form?

71, manual. I Learned to drive in a Hillman Minx with 4 on the column. I've pretty much always had a manual. Had an 11 GTS with PDK and it was fun. Traded it for a 10 GT3 which I really liked. When the 991 came out with PDKS I traded for a 15. Never drove it in straight auto. Usually had it in Sport and used the paddles. The combination of the howl and shift at 9k is hard to beat. With the valve train issue I decided to get a GT4 with its requisite manual. The packaging of the GT4 is well suited for a manual. I have had a ball driving the GT4 in the Smokies GT events. If I go for an 18 .2 I would look for a manual. However, a really good deal on a PDK could sway me back to the auto camp. In reality there is no 100% bad decision.

37 went manual but had a tough time deciding. Ultimately since the car will mostly be used on the street I decided to go with manual. I had a .2 GTS that was PDK and while the transmission was great I thought the overall package was a little boring for the street especially because for me it is a weekend toy and not a DD.

I'm 41, grew up driving manual. I love both and would have chosen both if an option, the 6MT was perfect for my 991.2 GT3, and the PDK is perfect for the my 991.2 GT3 RS.

63yrs young- after having PDK on last 2 cars, happy to be back in a sweet 6MT GT3!
Drove both my Touring 6MT and my students 992.2 PDK winged GT3 yesterday on the track and freely admit, if I was intending to do a lot of tracking, PDK would be the ticket. It's that good on the track!
My car will live 98% on public roads where the 6MT shines for me.

65 yoa.
Have a 991.2 C4S on order, manual.
Have owned manuals before, as well as motorcycles.
This will be a secondary vehicle, to enjoy the feel of getting a smooth shift and the added interaction.
I'm not looking to quick shift the car or to try to get the last tenth off an acceleration time.
At my age, I want to savor the ride as in all likelihood, 5 to 10 years (sounds like a criminal sentence!) from now, automatics will rule if I'm still around and driving.
