I'm also 52 and live in the UK..When i came to spec my GT3 last summer i was going from manual o PDK every 5 minutes..It was only after doing my PEC day at Silverstone in July i finally settled on PDK.It really suits the GT3 and the PDKS is so much better and more engaging than the normal PDK..Besides i have my 981 Spyder for manual thrills in which i would never consider PDK even if it was available.

I have a manual in a Vette and PDK in the .2 GT3. I prefer the linkage shifters in the Vette and didn’t really love the cable shifter in the GT4 I had so I went PDK in the GT3 and haven’t looked back.

47. I like both and have both. But around town I usually grab the PDK car because I don't want to deal with shifting every 1 mile between stop lights. It's also a lot harder to text and drive with a Manual.... :roflmao:

On a more serious note, if I could have got the new 3RS in manual, I would have still bought it PDK. Like the manual in my 993 TT though.

I'm 48 and have the 6MT .2 GT3. The more I drive it the more I realize Porsche put a lot of thought into this particular manual gearbox. Between the downshift rev matches, no throttle lift shifts and light clutch it can be driven a lot faster than I thought. I went back and forth a little bit on the PDK because I had a 911 4S in Europe for 2 weeks and was really impressed. I'm a purist at heart and I enjoy the interaction and attention you have to pay when driving a manual. I feel like some of the PDK attributes are in the manual...It's like no other manual I've driven. I'm absolutely loving it.

44 - I voted PDK but that is because there is not an option for both. I have a 991.1 GTS cab with PDK which I love and is my DD. I am getting a GT3T in March which will be my weekend toy and occasional DD. I look forward to enjoying the best of both worlds - the engineering marvel PDK GTS with the top down during the workweek and the sublime manual monster GT3 on weekends.

33 - voted PDK all though i loved manual on GT4 and CS, i truly believe that the PDK is the perfect match for GT3 or GT3RS.

At my age Im done shifting...if I have a wild hair and want to shift Ill use the paddles.

Targa Tim 09-08-2018 07:26 PM

got both, prefer manual.
next sport car purchase will be manual.
plenty of time to buy PDK and self driven cars.

I'm 64 and too damn old to learn to drive a PDK. Worried that I'll forget which paddle does what.

40- all my cars have been manual except my new .2 3RS. I would never want this car in a manual. The PDK in this car is much better than the non GT cars.

38, manual hands down. Most of my cars have been manuals and no matter how good the automatic is, no matter how much faster, whatever, I just love shifting.

58. Spent over 3 decades heel and toe. Time to move on.

49 and love Manuals. PDK is an excellent tranny but only good for not spilling coffee. Sorry but it just bores me to death.

The .2 Manual is just one of the Best out there and perfectly engineered for a modern day sportscar. It is quick, light, and precise.

I would hold on to them because you will thank me later

Went for a drive in my MT 50th, which is always fun. My 2008 GT3 was a hoot. I find just PDK boring on the street, although I steer clear of traffic congestion.

65 and love my GT3 MT. My other cars are automatics, M5, M4 and X5. I must admit the M5 with AWD is one quick car off the line and fun to drive around town.
