Question on GT3 Park Place Allocation
#31
I would call them and ask money back. Price will drop eventually and you will be able to get a used one under MSRP.
But is waiting a year or so to drive a more used car under MSRP to save 20k worth it? Personally I don't think so.

This is what Auto Gallery (now Woodland Hills) is doing with their GT3 and GT3RS deposits. The last time I checked, they had taken over 80 deposits for their GT3 allocations.
This just cracks me up, even the biggest dealer in the country will receive less than 35 GT3 allocations.

Porsche of Beachwood said they did over 100 991.2 GT3's when I bought my car in june. Of course, take anything said by a salesperson with a grain of salt.
As for the deposit thing: Of course a dealer will happily take a 0% interest loan from you and hold on to it for as long as they possibly can. It's a silly game, but there just isn't anything stopping them from doing it because most of the major competition is also doing it. You can of course ask for you money back, and they're of course within their rights to then bump you off the line. If you think it would help, have a polite "come to jesus" moment with your sales associate and see if you can get a solid commitment as to your position in line and a realistic assessment on the odds of you getting a car. But, again, see: Of course, take anything said by a salesperson with a grain of salt.

Why? In 2015 there were 189 Porsche dealers in the US, and lets say there were 4500 GT3's delivered to NA in 18' and using the 15' dealer total - thats 23.8 GT3's per dealership. Now, we know the smaller dealers have only seen 3-7 GT3's total (roughly from feedback on RL) - that leaves a large volume for the big dealers and I would place Beachwood into that boat.
Knowing there were 75 GT3 RS's in the first round for Champion, 100 total GT3's from Beachwood seems right in line.

Champion did not get 75 3RS allocations for the .2. Not even close. They got a good number but it’s a lot less than 75. 30 less than 75 to be exact. They did get 75+ .2 Gt3’s though... they are the biggest dealer in the country. As of now there are far less .2 3RS allocations out than the 1426 .1 2016 3RS’s in NA.

I find this very hard to believe. This is not how Park Place works. I have purchased two GT cars from them.
1. They only take 1k deposts
2. They never tell you what number you are on the list. Each sales rep gets a certain number of allocations. There is not master list.
If you are in Atlanta, you probably won't get a car. Usually they reserve cars for local enthusiasts who support the brand.

Sorry to threadjack. I placed a deposit in January 2016 at Roslyn porsche. I was told I'm either "3 or 4", and I must have been bumped pretty far down. Anyone know how many cars they got? Seems like they got quite a bit based on their social media posts. Time to get my deposit back.

They definitely aren't getting a lot, if anything probably allocations are all done for Porsche of Roslyn or the future Gold Coast Porsche. Good friend knows the owner was going to get me a car, but ended not being able to. Went to porsche of south shore and got one. Great people there. Very hard to get at MSRP as well since 18 is the last year.
