Default Is the Gt3 a daily driver ?

I am thinking about trading my 2018 TTS for a gt3. For those of you who use it as a daily driver, how it it?
I cant decide whether I want pdk or manual. Thoughts?

The GT3 can definitely be used daily and I would go PDK with the 4 way seats even though buckets are comfortable. Only issue is making sure you have good parking spots against the dings...Car must have Front axle lift option...I use that at least 2-3 times a day.

What is nice with PDK is that you can shift it manually if you prefer.

Car is quiet enough to not drive you crazy.

Under 5O degrees in the wet the Cup2s can be slippery if you overdo it....so you may want to change tires for daily...

I think it depends a lot on your commute.

If it is relatively short and you can stretch her legs In several spurts along the way or otherwise have fun in the car, you could daily if you wanted to and probably enjoy it.

My commute is anywhere between 30 mins - 1hr usually in congested city traffic and flat freeway with no curves. I have no desire to daily any sports car much less a GT car in these conditions.

I daily my 991.2. It’s PDK with 4-ways, and it has exactly the right mix of practicality and craziness that I was looking for. Given my road conditions (I live in Pittsburgh) I had them raise it back up to SPASM ride height and so I don’t worry about bumps. It’s quiet enough, and with the Bose the radio is more than adiquate. The ride quality is significanlty better than I was expecting. Keeo in mind that my previous best car was a 2015 WRX STI though, so my standards for “good” when it comes to NVH are probably lower than people that have been driving high end cars for much of their driving career.

And yeah, the tires (I have the Dunlops) are hilariously inadequate in the rain. But just leave the TC on and don’t be an idiot and you’ll be ok. As for winter, while I have no conceptual problem with driving it, I don’t plan on doing so. A set of winter rims and tires runs about $7,500. So it’s much cheaper, both in raw money and in risk, to just buy a crappy winter beater than snow tires. People aren’t joking when they say the cheapest winter tires are a Toyota Corolla 😛

It's illegal to drive the GT3 on Tuesdays.

So, no, not a daily. Obviously.

Yes, of course it’s drivable on a daily basis. I have no idea why people would think it isn’t?

I personally don’t dd my RS as there are other 911 not to mention different brands that do this much better. That being said, I could easily live with it and like the idea if you don’t have dog, kids, shopping to ferry around. Reckon it could get a bit frustrating though as it would be a bit like taking a greyhound on leisurly strolls. Don’t think I’d keep my license beyond the first week.

I've been daily driving GT3s (first a 2014, now a 2018 GT3T) for four years. I put on about 75 miles/day between my commute and lunch run. So, of course you can The ride is NOT as cushy as most other cars and I'm always worried about the other distracted drivers. I got rear-ended once by someone yakking on a cell phone in stop-and-go traffic. I keep telling myself that I should get a GTI, or something else more sensible, put at risk in traffic. But, the last 5 miles of my commute is a twisty/windy back road and I get over it

It's totally a personal preference thing. There's absolutely nothing preventing you from DD'ing a GT3. The addition of the back-up camera to the .2 would be nice for me. I guess FAL might help although pressing that button and waiting on it would annoy me to the point where I doubt I'd use it (never did in my .1 GT3 and didn't have it in the RS). I wouldn't want to DD a GT3 or RS but YMMV.

I drove my 2015 GT3 everyday, everywhere. I drive my 2018 GT3 Manual nearly everyday, everywhere. To me, modern NON-GT 911s have become too soft a sports car...the NON-GT cars are like driving sporty variants of Mercedes, BMW, and Audi products IMO.

Those are two really big questions that are all about personal preferences. I can however assume that because you are asking them, you are not happy with the TTS. First figure WHY it doesn't thrill you and take it from there. I can add though that there is nothing preventing a GT3 from DD duty and if you're driving includes stop and go, then opt for PDK. If not manual should be your choice.
