Either the GT2RS is crazy over valued if you accept $150K over MSRP or the 4.0 is a screaming deal.

This!
A 4.0 is a smoother slightly faster 3.8RS with CF fenders and hood.
Drove the same to me.

991GT2RS is a UFO.

For track days? GT2 RS.

For street fun, and fun in general? 997 4.0 very, very hard to beat.

The fact that you are asking which car means you are completely clueless and the only similarity between either of those cars and you is the fact that you have money you dont know what to do with. I sincerely ask that you leave the brand and go elsewhere. People like you and enthusiasts dont belong to the same sentence.

There were only 600 of the 4.0 made worldwide period- that's a fact.

Really? That is just not necessary. This whole thing is just for fun!

Unless OP himself is kidding in which case I apologize, there is nothing funny about it.

Those two cars are so different that if a person has to ask which one to choose, I question that you should even own one in the first place.

This is like saying should I date a blonde or brunette or should I eat a hamburger or turkey wrap or should I paint the walls white or blue.

It is a value thread for speculating on financial outcome of a car purchase and nothing to do with driving.
I thought the OP was quite clear in his original post.
Only 600 of the 4.0, how many of the GT2RS will be built is an unknown - what if it is a large number? How would you feel had you paid $200k ADM...

If I planned to eat it and smile while driving it, I'd feel fine. If people bought 500k because they thought it was going up from there?......I seriously doubt many have. Most just want it NOW and be damned what it costs to get it. I don't believe people are paying 500k for an open ended production 991 RS (of any kind) with the intent of it being a stable-to-appreciating asset.

I just took the 4.0 for a drive

I’m honestly not sure how much someone would have to pay me to sell it regardless of market value

it’s the best 911 I’ve ever driven on the street and an experience that can’t be replicated with a “modern” 911

to me it’s the best 911 that will ever be built

And less than 200 of them came to the US. I bet there will be 600-800 GT2RSs in the US when the dust settles.

158 4.0 RS total for the US/NA, if I remember correctly. A few totaled due to crashes and/or accidental fires. Not sure if it’s below 150 now...

What nice dinners with half decent wine are you having to go from $500k to the $800k or so that CGTs go for???

Quick Reply: At $500k, a new gt2rs or a 2011 gt3rs 4.0?
