Default Comprehensive List of Changes between the GT3 & Touring

Well my Turbo S is now gone, it was a sad day, but the same week the dealer finally gave me a build date of next week for my 911 Touring. Unfortunately I was not able to get my color, Sapphire Blue, which was a big letdown but I settled for another color. Now that I have a production date I am starting to research more and have not been able to find any posts about the differences between the GT3 and Touring.

Here is all that I know so far but these are the obvious changes. I am interested to see if they add in more insulation, change the sway bars or springs rates, exhaust…… I would assume there would be some other changes to account for the lack of the rear wing. For instance if you change the inclination angle for the GT4 you had to remove tiny little flaps from the rear for just a few degree’s. Not having a wing at all must have pushed them to change the rear spring rates or removed downforce up front, but have nothing to back up this theory.

GT3 Touring Changes:
· Manual Only
· Intakes & filter elements are different

· Sport Tex Seat Inserts are standard
· Steering wheel and shift boot, and some additional trim bits, come standard in leather rather than Alcantara.
· Black Anthracite Aluminum Trim
· Door Handels replace the Straps

· Optional Silver Window Trim
· Replacement of the standard Wing for the standard 911 Active Spoiler w/ a Gurney Flap

· The standard car has a carbon cover under the rear hatch which the Touring does not get.
· Reduced Gas Guzzler Tax for the US

Based on the last thread on this, it is the wing and associated parts (intake etc.), the cosmetic stuff (Black centers of seats, black stitching, Black aluminium trim standard inside and on door sills, touring package chrome bits and non-tinted taillights, no GT3 on the back), manual only, and no clubsport (not relevant in US). It is also two gas guzzler tax brackets down ($1000 v. $1700 for wing manual).

Everything else is the same.

CAlexio had a great post on the Touring differences and tuning done to it.
I apologize on not finding it now, I spent a bit of time searching and can't seem to find it buried in those huge threads.

No straps on the GT3, it comes with door handles. Straps on the RS.

Did the underbody rear diffuser come on all .2 GT3s or just the .1 R and Touring?

Center caps are non-colored porsche crests as opposed to GT3 on winged cars.

Download PET and then search for the terms, "PR 032", "PR 038", and "Touring". That will tell you exactly what the differences are.

Can you kindly let me know where I can find the PET for 991.2 GTS?
This is a great source of information for our cars.

Thank you,
Nick
