Do you have a real job?

Saw a few posts in this 991 GT3 RS R section which made me laugh, raising the question of whether anyone around here who posts regularly has a real job. That got me thinking: how do people manage to spend so much time around here while being able to afford these cars?

I'll start. For many years, I've owned a 'small' business, which gives me some schedule flexibility, and dipping into RL a couple times a day is a nice temporary diversion from working and other responsibilities.

I imagine some people around here must have inherited money, but I couldn't even guess at the percentage.

Posting at work occasionally - work at one of the big FANG tech companies

this should be interesting! So will be quite honest to make this worth it.
I work from home, semi-retired at 60 (help start and sold small tech business which now has 130 employees) but still help with technical Oracle database stuff. Made money + also accumulated inheritance (there I said it first).
Web browsing helps pass the time while coding/waiting on database things.

I'll bet a large percentage of us own our own businesses and/or are semi retired from owning our own businesses.

My job requires Double Secret Security Clearance. If I told you what I did..........(I sit on my a** all day staring at computer screens.)

Own my own business. Mostly participate in development meetings daily. Probably working 20 hours per week, and that might be a stretch. Not sure if the Hitler videos were billable or not, so that could skew the hours a bit.

33 and work as an anesthesiologist. Most days are spent supervising CRNAs so there’s a lot of down time to browse rennlist

In my 30's, own many businesses, able to work as I please remotely.

Doesn't feel like a real job. 12 hour days but only work half the month and it's mostly from home. Lots of Reddit, Rennlist, and YouTube. Turned down a promotion to keep working pants-less.

My job is all too real. I come here for the unreality.

I work in the finance industry for a large accounting firm. That means, I am in front of my computer 8-12 hours a day, either doing research or financial modeling. Therefore, reading on RL many times a day consumes only a few minutes of a distraction.

So, yes, I am in rare company to have a "real job" where I get performance reviews, have to wear shoes to work, take sick and vacation time, and don't set my compensation.
