Do you have a real job?

Biggest mistake in my life was not trusting my gut and taking a punt on buying $100 worth of bitcoin in winter 2011 when they were $2/coin. If I had, that $100 would have turned into $320,000 right now, and $1,000,000 at its peak. I also really regret not buying nVidia at $19/share like I advised my girlfriend to do in 2013. She's gotten a 14x return on that investment. Shame she only had $1,000 from a summer internship IRA income tax conversion to invest at the time.

43 years old. No inheritance. Endodontist (root canals) but also recently branched off into telemedicine. We are now the largest dental online consulting website (www.dentistondmand.com).

Back in their early days, I thought of investing in a couple companies called Amazon and Yahoo (since I myself was using them a lot and they seemed to have a future), but am generally financially conservative and decided not to risk it. Of course, things are clearer with the benefit of hindsight, so I don't beat myself up over the missed opportunities.

I am a US postal worker. I am able to purchase my cars by all the overtime I get delivering Amazon packages. Been so busy my new .2 GT3 has been siting at the dealer for 3 weeks because I haven’t had time to pick it up yet.

I need to be better at listening to my own advestment advice. My mother and girlfriend have done quite well off it. Myself, not so much.

Took over the family business at 30 when my dad passed way too young. 45 now.
170,000 square feet commercial real estate now on 35 acres (properties backing on 4 lane highway adjacent to one another with one 2 doors down), some commercial buildings (notable tenants FedEx Ground & UPS), several self storage buildings with excess land used as a storage compound for vehicle (boat/RV/truck/trailer) and commercial equipment storage. Grew it substantially since I started, adding buildings, buying/severing/selling property etc.
Also have a 50% interest in an RV/Trailer dealership onsite that was family's but since 2004 has been owned by myself and a former employee, now my business partner who is the managing partner.
Things are going pretty well now, an overnight success 20 years in the making, but the first several years were very trying.
No big inheritance but I did receive opportunity and learned from my parents who started with nothing, almost went broke a few times along the way, but kept at it.

Retired customer service rep. Don't have big bucks. Always wanted a 911. Carrera suits me fine. Rented a 991.2 last month as part of my bucket list . My wife said she never saw my smile sooooo wide. With her buy in ( partner of 50 years this September) about to use 25% of our savings on a 2019. Never did something so impulsive, but, hey, no family to leave it to, so we are going for it!
Thanks for listening.
