Here is an odd one. My spec Miata racer arrived from Boston area today. I was talking to the drivers and they picked up a new GT3 RS Lizard Green in NJ and delivered to Houston. I asked PNH? They said “no” it was going to the owner of a Chevy dealership who was helping his friend in NJ sell it. Guys said they were asking like $150k over sticker for it. Needless to say red flags wend up in my mind on this one given the supposed players involved.

I buy 2 yr old used e350 diesel for my work cars. always in august, at the summer sales event. Add the additional milage warranty, unlimited miles. My 2012 was 29999 with 20k on it. I have 250k on it, just about had it for 4 years. It has had a rear end, tranny, full motor, replaced this year. all under warranty nothing ever failed, rear end was making noise, misdiagnosed as tranny, so tranny went in, noise never went away, lol then a rear end. then in march this year, it started burning oil. Failed leak down and ws burning a quart every 800 miles. they did not have a motor, has to make one, 3 months complete long block , heads, injections etc etc jus pull old out new in.

Friend bought a 2018 PDK GT3 with break in miles for just under MSRP from Porsche dealership last week.
The ADMs are definitely decreasing and probably slowly disappearing. Lots of cars out there sitting around.

GT Porsches are a little different, but still have their sweet spot. It was mid 2012. I had an opportunity to buy a 2011 997.2 gt3 with 7k miles, cpo car for 97k. Did not do it, but that was the sweet spot for those 997 GT3s. not sure when the sweet spot of the 991.2 will come, but the 991.1 gt3 and the gt3 rs are coming close to it, especially the 991.1 gt3. It is a freaking bargain in the current 911 lineup. Can get a nice 15’ car in the low 120s.
This. Paid a bit more for mine, but a good time to buy.

Better tell those losers driving those RSR/GT3R's around in pro level races that they aren't as good as they thought - if they drove a manual gearbox they would definitely be better drivers and more engaged with the car.

exactly the point ... PDK is for pro racing, lap times and latest tech folks ... these same pro drivers own manuals for their personal fun road cars ie. Chris Harris all the way up to Nico Rosberg

Easy - I live/drive in LA and also understand that to extract that same type of performance whether on a track or in the canyons while focusing on the gear shifts/transmission may lead to harm for myself or my car and or others in my case already had some hairy moments with the rear stepping out too much and that was with both hands fully on the wheel and my undivided attention on the throttle/steering input/road. Wouldn't take as many "liberties" to explore the car if it was 6MT and that's just a fact in my situation with a $200k car. Knee jerk reactions too, like debris/rocks on road surface ahead of a blind curve and have to swerve slow down fast, would be a bit more complex for me with the MT. 405 don't even get me started...

Consider myself a Senna fan and that won't be the first or last time I watch a video of his driving prowess in a NSX or MP4 car either

Agree with everything Sam said.

All the manual evangelists can preach all they want, but that doesn't mean the manual is always the best option, particularly for those of us that live in LA or other major cities. I enjoy my track days even more with PDK than I did with manual too.......

I had a great 4 months in LA with my manual GT3. Mind you I didn't daily drive it but I had a blast hitting ACH, Malibu canyons, etc. with my car. With that said, I did not enjoy tracking the car that much and that's precisely why I'm looking for a PDK GT3 for my next car (while keeping my current car). Best of both worlds.

You can always manually shift a PDK with your brain being the engagement point with the car telling you when to shift just like in a manual 6 speed.....

In heory it may sound ideal but in reality does not play out that way.

Do not get me wrong; PDK is a fantastic transmission and I agree that there are certain circumstances like tracking and traffic where it makes more sense but it is far from as involving as 3 pedals and a rod in one's hand
