Default Best roll cage for GT3 991.2

Suggestions for the best roll cage for GT3 991.2? Looking for one that fits well, and maintains as much rear view as possible.

There are plenty of threads on this topic. I personally have the BBI. Very nice fit.

We believe ours offers the best fitment, view, harness attachment points, construction (.120" wall Docol R8) and is offered in custom powder coated colors. All for $2,495 including shipping. Our bars are 100% manufactured and powder coated in house to ensure the highest quality from beginning to end. Let us know how we can help.

Hi sandiego

I am in the process of making that decision and “best” will be a function of what’s important to you. Budget, mods to the car (carpet / panel cutting), weight, architecture of the bar (depending on looks / where you want to attach the harness), availability, etc

GMG offer 3 types (LMS, RSR, WEC) and others like BBI, or Canterel have products out there too. The most OEM looking is Agency Power (also one of the most expensive) and you can see I started a thread recently to get feedback from anyone who used them.

Here are a few photos of the CMS Performance 991 roll bar installed in a customer's 991.1 GT3RS. It was powder coated to match the Lava Orange of the car. The rear view is unobstructed (other than the car's rear wing), installation is precise and ties the rear strut towers together for chassis rigidity, and the use of ultra-high strength steel instead of 4130 CrMo makes it safer and stronger in the event of an impact. Proper location of the harness bar (both angle and distance to the driver) is also key to safety. With custom-powdered to each customer's order, it adds to the unique nature of each GT3 or RS.

Unobstructed rear view (through the rear-view mirror).

Ultra-high strength steel replaces outdated 4130 CrMo for strength, safety, and durability.

Proper harness bar location (angle and distance to driver).

Rear view doesn’t look unobstructed from that photo. Could you post a pic from driver eye level actually looking through the rear view mirror? Also could you share the gap distance between the top of the main hoop bar and the headliner?

We don't have a photo at eye level as you describe, it's nearly impossible to take one like that. The rear view is, however, not obstructed by the roll bar. The gap between the middle of the main hoop and the headliner is half an inch.

I suspect on a .2 GT3 (non-RS) the view is actually partially obstructed above the wing with that flat top bar design. Easy to snap a picture from the driver’s view with cell phone camera placed right in front of your eye when sitting.

Will someone, anyone... just make a rear shock tower/harness bar? For those that don't want to install 50 extra pounds in the back of the car and just want something to mount our harnesses too?

Would love a clean simple rear bar that goes straight across.

Best Regards,
Dave

There is actually a company in Australia who makes one. I reached out to them once to inquire about purchasing one. They wouldn't export it.

Check this out: http://autohaushamilton.com.au/news/...ty-harness-bar

I'd love to get one.

This is maybe not as clean and simple as you have in mind, but with no unnecessary crossbars, the view is totally unobstructed, you can still get some bags/gear in the back, and the attachment points are close to the seats as they should be. Clearly this is a harness bar, not roll cage, but I think many of the bolt-in harness/roll bars don't really provide much rollover protection. I just saw two of these installed over the weekend at Barber and thought it was a really appealing option: https://www.teambgb.com/991-Harness-Bar-p/991bar.htm
