Default Porsche precision track app

Is there any way to make the PPTA work on a 2014 GT3 model that has Sport Chrono? If not, what are some good track apps to get that will basically do the same thing??

My understanding is you could retrofit the Track app hardware at the dealer. Here's the hardware, for example: https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/SKU991GT3APP.html

But the Porsche Track Precision system is a piece of junk, so I would look elsewhere for whatever you're after...

Hmmm, that part says cars without Sport Chrono.. I have SC. But that's why I'm asking. Whats another app that works if I can't get the Porsche one to work?

SC included the Track Precision App (which requires some special Wifi hardware) starting with 2015s. Give Harry's Lap Timer a shot if you're just looking for some basic lap timing on the track.

Right, I have a 2014 so wondering what I can do to make it work on mine if at all possible. If not, then i want something that shows all the telemetry like track map, on or off the brake/gas, gear, steering wheel input..etc..

Your car is missing the hardware, hence my comments about a dealer retrofit being necessary if you want the Porsche version. That's probably the least expensive path to what you want (when the Porsche app actually works). Otherwise you'll need to retrofit data loggers and a camera system to do a similar overall (such as an AiM SoloDL + SmartyCam, or a Vbox HD2 system). Don't bother, PTPA just doesn't work. Not even on a .2GT3 that was designed with it out of the box !

Listen to these guys. The track app is total garbage. 1/2 of the time it won't connect. When it does connect, 1/2 of the time the video doesn't sync properly. This was true with my .1 and .2 GT3. There is a reason the app is not included for 'free'.

it works for me both on .1 & .2, "most" of the time - always records data but sometimes no video.

Works for me, but steering input/display is delayed or exaggerated.

Best Regards,

PTPA on the .2 doesn’t work. It’s frustrating because I’d love wheel slip data. Harry’s works great and that is what I use now. If you use Harry’s get the external GPS.

I used to use traqmate but they are out of business with no further updates.
