Happy Sunday all,
I have a .2 3RS on order without WP since I ordered after the stop sale. I have since found a car coming in after someone backed out of sale with the WP.
I don't have any serious intention to track the car and will use on backroads. I do plan on driving it as many weekends as I can, so it will get miles.
It seems to me that the $18k isn't really worth the weight savings for non-track use but it may make the car more desirable particularly given the stop sale and I can't deny that it somehow appeals to me a little.
Is that silly and should I just go with the car I ordered?
Thanks

I will get mine without WP and will actually be tracking it a lot. For me the replacement cost for the Weissach wheels is a deal breaker and I probably won’t win any prizes for the 0.34s it gains me on track. Personally not so keen on the design of bonnet and wheels either. Just one guy’s opinion..

the carbon adds a significant amount of wow factor to me, especially as it wasn’t available on the previous 3RS.
You should keep in mind that not all colours look good with the wp. For me it is black for sure and maybe guards and lizard.

WP is cool no doubt. I just couldn't justify spending $18k (a) to save 30lbs and (b) we don't even get the Titanium roll bar here that is included for the same $18K in Europe. This latter point really tweaked me. They won't even ship it in a box. That's a $7,000 item at least you pay for an don't get. BS in my book. At least give us the credit for no roll bar but PAG apparently thinks we are deparate enough here in U.S. that we will pay for something we don't even get. Not this boy.
I like the look of both WP and non WP. So far it seems WP and non WP are about even according to the poll here at least.
As to value, the WP will be worth more based on at least the cost of the package which you paid for admission. Whether it will be a premium over the $18k paid who knows.

Not buying for next owner/future value. As others have stated.... couldn’t justify $18k for what the package contains. Include the magnesium wheels and I’d happily pay $25k for the WP.
So, no WP for me.

No for me either, and my car locks in a week. If I could order I would have passed just doesn’t meet the valaue meeter for me as the weight savings my opinion is a sham. Now if you can drive that damn good and the weight savings will help you it makes sense I guess. I never buy cars for the next guy I build them for me and me only.

Another no WP for me. In my case just not worth the money as you’d never realize the weight difference in reality, in the US you can’t get the roll cage and although I love CF, the CF hood on any color other than black (maybe) just looks a bit “parts bin” to me. Just my opinion and don’t mean to criticize anyone who has WP.

WP comes down to if you want the option, not the weight savings IMO....few if any of us would notice it....you order it with the hopes you'll get all if not more of your $18K in value when the time comes to part ways....

WP will be like PCCB, some will list it a must have, some will not want it, some will take it either way. If it is the car you want and you're not paying above MSRP for the WP slot, go for it.

Its cool, buy it for looks and value only, not for performance. I originally didnt order it, now i cant, but if i saw it in person earlier i would have added it.
