Manthey's 991.1 RS ran magnesium wheels with Trofeo R's.

No it was not. It was running a N0 918 tyre, SportAuto have a very clear picture of that and the Cup2R tyre was only announced last year. The Manthey car ran that lap well over 2 years ago.

Have a look at the g forces measured at HH between MR car on N0 and .2RS on Cup R. The latter clearly generates more grip (in fact more than I achieve in a 996 Cup on slicks, albeit on much narrower rubber). Imv this clearly illustrates that the MR car was on regular rubber and not some special in disguise.

The .2 rs in europe has a 100k euro delta over the 1.rs. that's a gt2 almost or dundon and manthey kit and 50k to get an rs6. Makes no sense. But on the other side, the 2.rs at mrsp in germany makes much more sense at 215k base price.
Edit: and there are the .2 gt3 priced at the same rates of .1 rs with some mileage that make this all much harder to pick.
Quite nice options and problems to have.

I was considering the side deletes plus a center straight though delete but just like to get your thoughts on why you kept OEM center instead of removing with sides? Too loud? Thanks, Car looks bloody killer btw.
Removing all three mufflers and having straight pipes right after the cats was awesome, but brutal. And as much as i loved it, this setup to me is just a little more subdued and livable. I prefer the tone of center stock and side delete over the opposite. so this is what im running now and im pretty sure ill do the same on the next one.

Looks like the .2 definitely had cheater tires, which may have been worth 10+ secs compared to the regular Cup 2 for the ring lap.

The .1GT3RS MSRP was $178,000. The .2GT3RS MSRP $187,000. $9000 Delta. What's to complain about?

Thank you both guys. I think I'll start with side deletes only and see if I want/need to go to center delete as well.

In the sportauto test it’s clearly stated and shown on pics that it ran Cup R. Hitting 1.8g in some corners at the Ring would not be possible on Cup 2.

Are Trofeo R’s equivalent?

1200 miles on my Mk2 RS now, will be going in for break-in oil change and alignment check soon.

Not sure if my imagination but the steering seems a bit lighter/less feedback on high speed cornering than the Mk1, would need to back to back them to be sure. Perhaps can be resolved with minor alignment adjustment.
