Saying Goodbye to my Golf Blue .2GT3

Due to not driving the car enough, I made the tough decision of letting my Golf Blue .2GT3. When it came time to grab keys for the manual fix, I would reach for the 997 4.0 keys instead of the .2GT3. I'm a driving and not a collector so it was time to let the GT3 go to someone who will actually drive it more than I did. The car only had 870 miles when it was picked up yesterday. It has clear bra on the front half of the car and has ceramic coating on the entire car. It's in perfect condition. Here's the link to John's For Sale Thread....

If anyone has any questions on the car, feel free to PM or email me.

How am I a flipper when I sold the car back to the dealership that I bought it from? haha

We all know how the game works, Martin.

Beauty. GLWS. John will get it done for sure.

(You're the second guy that i've seen on here selling a 991.2 GT3 b/c the 997 GT3 X variant is the preferred choice.)

If you mean by doing the right thing by selling the car to a good guy dealership that gave me the allocation at MSRP being the "game" then you are right. It's called good karma and keeping the relationship going, which BTW is a 2-way street.

Don't get me wrong, the .2GT3 gave me goosebumps driving it as I increased the RPMs but it just wasn't as raw as the 997 4.0 which gave me bigger goosebumps. The sound, the tough clutch, the noise, etc...

When does your 991.2 GT3 RS arrive ? Hopefully your dealer will give you an allocation at MSRP since you have given dealer back your GT3

Jan/Feb 2019 is when the RS is coming in.

Actually, I think he's referring to this game:

Buy the car at MSRP. Register it at a POB in Montana, pay no taxes/registration. list it for $25k over MSRP after three months of ownership, split the profits with the original seller.

Great Job Martin!

Doesn't the constant buy and churn get tiresome? You spent more time thinking about the car, talking about it and spec'ing it than you did driving it so what's the point exactly? Was it just insurance in the event you couldn't get an RS? It feels to me that Porsche GT cars are increasingly no different than the Ferrari game.

I totally get it man...people keep saying "the new gt3 is better than the 4.0" until you drive them back to back.

It's absurd.

Yes the gt3 is a nice car and fun...but it isn't ever going to replace the 4.0 in my garage.

GLWS!!

Nice to see I'm not the only one who sees through Martin's smoke and mirrors.

"I LOVE CARS AND HATE BS!" Lol you just can't make this **** up.

But it doesn't matter. He'll cry and whine to the mods and get this thread edited or removed, just like he has in the past. There is just no end to his hypocrisy. It's no wonder why several of RL's best members don't post here any longer.

Finally astute people are being honest about this game. Let me know if I have the steps correct. I'm sure the ordering of the steps change, dependent on, well anything at all, because what good is a game that has fixed and determinable rules. Notice the coincidence to the # of steps.

1. Get car at MSRP
2. Tell everyone on RL that they got car at MSRP
3. Tell everyone on RL the secret Coke formula to getting car at MSRP
4. Secret Coke formula has poignant metaphors like "establish a relationship with your dealer", "go to lots of events your dealer sponsors", "service your cars at the dealer (see point 7 below), "be a good guy"
5. Spec car precisely to your desire, 99% motivated by what the dealer will later be able to market and sell car
6. Remind everyone on RL that only true drivers should get cars and only the super duper bestest car people should get cars at MSRP
7. Drive (stare at) car for 6 months
8. Give (sell) car to dealer for MSRP
9. Remind RL that cars are not depreciating assets and should be driven for free
10. Move/Divorce/Kids/New business opportunity/Pizza forces sale
11.Get next GT car at MSRP
12. Remind everyone on RL that all of the above was done with good intentions, fair business practices, and worthy of accolade and praise
Q. Encourage the rest of the Porsche community to drink heavily because it makes the tears taste less bitter.
