Default Is the GT3 now a Product Line?

I thought this was a track focused, single purpose car but with the Touring it raised an eyebrow, now with the Speedster it makes me wonder if Porsche is making a new product line of the NA engine.

Porsche has 20 flavors of 911 with turbo charged engines and the GT3 is the only one with NA. We have been old that emissions regs are driving the move to turbos but then how can that support expansion of the NA line?
As a Halo car moving into a Halo product line why is it priced below the Turbo?

We can't be mad that Porsche is making variations on the best enthusiast car they make.

In an ideal world the only 911s that exists would have the 4.0 motor.

If they want to do a turbo it should be AWD only.

Don't think so much.

1. If you have a GT3, go drive it.

2. If you don't have one, save up enough money to buy one. Then do No. 1, above.

Drive more. Type less. Every 911 should have a GT3/RS engine and suspension, except the Turbo S and GT2RS.

Porsche can make whatever variants of the GT3 they want. If it puts money in PAG’s pocket and smiles on owners faces, i am good with that. I know i had a grin on mine the whole way to the dealer and on the way back today. Let as many people enjoy it as possible, in as many variations.

Enough b1tching about great models. There will be a time when we’ll be forced to drive appliances.

My only complaint is the games that come along with buying these cars. Some of the antics to get the pinnacle models are kafkaesque.

i understand why one would ask this question. However, i think it’s great that Porsche has all the different variations of the 911. Each model has a use case(s) that it serves well.

For the track minded owner, there’s the GT line up.

CAFE regulations might get revised so the NA offerings may have a resurgence. I also read an article in one of the recent, if not most recent, Panorama magazines, that there's a bill in congress seeking to do away with ethanol additives in gasoline. Now regardless of which side proposed it, and your personal politics, I hope it goes through...

Can’t blame them for dressing up the Golden Goose in as many different outfits as they can think of.

Porsche seem to be able to sell as many as they make and extending the NA engine production line is a move that lowers per unit costs but I find the duplication surprising

So are we upset because they don't make enough GT product so there's adm or too much GT product because it waters down the brand? Hard to keep track.

+1 That's the essence of RL, contradiction and complaint.

Hence my question about why is the Turbo more expensive - shouldn't teh Halo car be higher priced?

I really think the “GT3” is more of a brand than a product line. One thing is owning a Porsche, owning a GT3 is an entirely different matter, Porsche knows this. That is why the number of units has gone up up up.
