911 R. Wow
Drove a 911 R this weekend. What a hoot. To me it sounded and felt more responsive then the PDK gt3s (both 991.1 and 991.2) I had briefly driven. I am thinking about trading my 2018 911 TTS with 2000 miles for it. I love the TTS but this R was unreal. Just more visceral. It pulled better then I thought it would also. My only issue is if I will get tried of the manual transmission after 10 minuets of driving, its been a long time since I had a manual. Also, of course if we can meet on price. The prices are going down but still higher then I want to pay. Any thoughts on if I should do it and if the market will continue to go down or did it reach bottom levels.

I was thinking about doing the same thing and trade in my 15 turbo s.
In the end, I decided to order .2 GT3RS and bought a GT3 touring. You can have the best of both worlds

Get a Gt3 touring. Half the price, same amount of fun.

Agree with MileHigh911, the potential problem is you might hesitate to drive it because it can be a collectable
and even if you don't care about that, the majority of R owners are barely driving them as evidenced by extremely low mileage cars that keep popping up
so , on the back end , when you want to sell your car, relative to other cars , it will always appear that your car is high mileage

I have said it before and I'll say it again. The many so-called "hyper cars" are cars of the minute, only to be replaced by something more powerful, quicker and more expensive time and time again. In other words, one hyper car is virtually made obsolete by the next generation (and each seems to need to look more outrageous than the last). The R, however, much like the 1973 RS or the 964 RS, is car of a generation. It will never be obsolete because it is just plain emotional fun at its best. It is not for racing, it does not scream "look at me". It is satisfying and always will be. And, indeed, in today's world, if I could only have one car, it would be the R.
