Yes against a 996 cup.....its been proven many times at Sebring, a 991.2 3RS with CupRs will easily beat a 996 cup by a substantial margin!

And........ congratulations on the large house, I'm sure its beautiful!
Hmm, that would be the 911 RSR race car.

Nothing come close.

I didn't know the RS was doing low 13s at Sebring no matter what tire. If so, wow.

Those Trofeo R's are awesome.....but they won't be up to the task against the Cup car with Pirelli slicks.....but even more important, look how much fun this is going to be when it's all said and done?

Did you put a harness bar and harnesses in the 2RS? I am sure Bryan would want one and it would certainly add to his ability to get the most out of the 2RS?

CJ, the 2RS will certainly pull into 1 and 5 but that car will will have to brake a bit earlier into Turn 8 and the kink to get to 150 but if Bryan has the stones, it will be close! :-)

Scott Tucker did 2:15's or so in his cheater Porsche Turbo as SCCA runoffs some years back. He was getting owned in the turns by David Pintaric's SRT 10 Viper running similar times but underpowered on the straights. Neither are on Sellers level. I honestly think the GT2 RS should be able to run those times with Sellers at the wheel. The Cup will obviously be faster but I say no more than 5 seconds on pirellis. But more like 3-4. I think it would be 2 seconds max on same tire. The extra long straights will benefit the 2RS for sure. Probably the closest delta at any track.

I think if the cars ran equal tires, this would be very close. The grip of the cup car will be its big advantage. The cup car will have upper hand in grip and weight....the gt2rs will have power advantage. Give the gt2rs slicks like the cup car, and we could truly see which car laps faster.

But I wouldnt bet my house on either side of this.....nor will I unnecessarily and gratuitously describe my house.....
+1 on all of that. With equal tires, the GT2RS may win.

Someone needs more skill in the art of bragging.

this begs the question is RSR still a “911” with the engine in the middle??

Exactly. The answer is no until a street version has the engine in the same place.

I think the legs of the GT2 will out run that Cup @ RA, however that same pair to mid ohio...or Cota.. Advatage Cup. I think the Cup should run like 2:15 or so. Sellers is a good dude. His birthday was like a week ago I think.

Cool comparison. I approve!

Let us know the results.

Dumb question, but when the testing is done, what about putting a set of Hoosier's on the RS and getting a couple of quick laps? Also be interesting to see what the tire really adds...
