Yeah but not on a new GT3. I know, I know... same thing. Still I'm going to wait until someone with a .2 GT3 does it.
Like I said before, I did the same thing on my previous car, so I know how great an aftermarket shorty can be.

So until there are more reviews from people who've actually installed and used it on their GT3, specifically, I'm going to hold off.
I was referring to just the shifter as opposed to shifter + cables. Shifter alone if it is like swapping in a GT4 shifter is easy.

Default Wow

So my car is going Friday (weeping and sobbing, uncontrollably), and I just swapped back from Numeric to stock... ***.

The stock shifter is trash in comparison. It’s sloppy and limp versus Numeric’s. (I didn’t even do the cables, just the shifter.) Porsche could greatly improve on it but they don’t, for some odd reason. Maybe to save a few bucks. For anyone considering improving upon your manual 991.2 GT3, don’t hesitate. You can thank me later. One note, it is very firm... if like to shift with one finger, the Numeric isn't for you! 2mm spring is almost too firm. If you don't want it with too much resistance, opt for the 1.5mm spring when ordering. Edit Quote Multi Quote Quick Reply

Hmmm, this comment has me concerned about the balance of controls. I have no problem with a shifter that requires some effort (like 997 GT3), but it only makes sense in the context of other controls that are also heavy (clutch, steering, brakes, etc.). The 991 GT3 has light effort on all those controls, so a heavy shifter seems potentially out of balance with the others (even if it is more precise).

agree. Although it is a very subjective observation.
I recently installed the GT4 short shifter in my .1GTS and very very happy with it. Similar in feel and shifts to my current .2GT3.

Grant, not out of balance at all. Just go with 1.5mm spring. Perfect. Still can't get over how sloppy the stock shifter feels after getting used to Numeric.

Stock GT3 to Numeric >= Stock 991 to GT4 in my opinion. At least as significant a improvement.

woah just checked out Numeric. looks pretty good no doubt (watched the video by Hutchinson). but $700? I paid $250 for the GT4 shifter--very satisfied. maybe in the future I'll fit numeric in the GT3

Oh wow congrats! Now the million dollar question--are you going to keep the stock 911R shifter or swap out for the Numeric?

I have used MGW shifters in my cars which are truly work of art. Not trying to imply these arent but I m baffled to see the price of $700 vs MGW shifters for literally half the price. There should be a group buy for these to make the price more attractive.

Yes. The price is high but simple install. I'm not familiar with other makes. This mod, IMHO, has great value though, even at seven hundy.
