Service bulletin - Paint issues on 2016 or later cars
My tech showed me this bulletin that Porsche had released for all 2016 or later produced cars. Apparently, factory is acknowledging that cars were shipped with the protective wrapper while the clear coat has yet to fully cure. There were lots of pictures attached with bulletin showing the various types of paint defects.
Here is an example of a GT2RS where the clear coat didn't cure properly and had to be resprayed.
Fast forward to 21:10 mark to see an example of the damage from protective wrap during shipping and 24:14 mark to see clear coat not curing properly.
So if you are taking delivery of your car (especially GT cars), you should inspect your paint very carefully!

Actually a shame a car can be delivered that poorly.

Mine wasn’t shipped because I picked it up from the factory but I sent it to the back.
There were paint runs on front fender and wing.
They polished it out to where it looked almost OK.
did paint correction once the car came home.
the initial purple car paint issues are documented and probably why they stopped it for a while.

They need to visit Ingolstadt and see what kind of magic Audi is doing at their paint shop.
I really dont like Audi's, but they really have really good paint from my view.

Wow - crazy. Validates what JC/Detail Designs has mentioned in his threads about the paint quality on the Porsche GT cars he's come across recently

While all new factory cars are far from perfect, one needs to be careful in determining what is considered industry acceptable (eg. things that could be paint corrected), and which items that is considered as true defects (eg. needs a respray).
I consider light swirls and holograms to be normal as a part of the new car delivery process. But having clear coat not curing properly and causing blemish like that, it's totally unacceptable.
The problem is, on special cars like the GT3, GT3RS, GT2RS, what do you do when you discover you have a paint defect? Refuse delivery and hope for another allocation that is 6-9 months down the line or potentially, not have an allocation due to production capacity? Or you let Porsche respray the car and you now have a car that doesn't have the original paint anymore? Hopefully that is a decision that none of us will need to make down the line.

I had my 991.1 GT3 come in with these paint problems after waiting forever for a PTS car. I refused delivery; the dealer and PCNA did not give a poop. I ended up getting an allocation from another dealer and picked a standard color which came in fine...

===>luckly those can be detailed out as the video showed
and 24:14 mark to see clear coat not curing properly.
===> that type of damage was on a friend's car and it is beyond repair.

Checking in on a buried thread... Have the factories made adjustments for the service bulletin? Are people still seeing the same level of paint defects with cars manufactured after July?
