My sales tax rate in Manitou is 9.03%. So the credit I get by trading in is significant. In addition, my local dealer gave me a very fair offer. When I combine their offer with the sales tax credit (over $10k) I probably couldn't get much more than another $5k if I tried selling myself, which I don't really want to try and sell a used $175k car. Also, I'm guessing they gave me a much better deal on the Sport Turismo because of my trade.

In the end I feel good about the trade in.

Thanks! A GT350 is a serious possibility. I grew up in Michigan and worked for a parts supplier in the auto industry for my first 7 years out of college. During that time my favorite project was working with Roush on the new GT500 and Ford GT (early 2000's). Roush was designing the engines for Ford and I was responsible for the gaskets. So I got to see a lot of the behind the scenes development of those two cars. I was never a mustang fan, but being around those cars for years makes you really appreciate them. Ford did good with the GT350 and that might be a better bet than a much older 911. It will be hard to stray from Porsche however.

Trust me, I wasn't going to say anything originally. It's been a very polarizing decision even with friends and family. My brother is ready to kill me and one of my good friends thinks its the best decision ever. But I figured it's worth sharing these types of decisions with the forum.

Before you buy the Ford, at least look at the Corvette. I pre-traded my .1 GT3 and so needed a temp low cost track car last summer, could not find the right Porsche so I bough a Grand Sport - its so good I decided to keep it even after the .2 showed up.

GT350 is awesome! Albeit it is a different experience than a Porsche. I haven't tracked my GT350 but have been out to Ford Performance School with their GT350 and it performed way better on track than I had expected it to and enjoyed it on autocross circuit. They run Castrol SRF, slight change in alignment, harness and roll cage otherwise same car.

OT....I visit Manitou Springs every time Im out your way. Fantastic lil town and the short drive to Pikes Peak is nice. If I ever retire its gonna be there!

Yes I was talking about the Turbo with the capital T.. but just realized now he's talking about the slower hybrid not the Turbo S Hybrid so the original question starts to make more sense

Do yourself a BIG favor and test drive the AMG e63S with CCBs before you buy the P. I own 2 E63s and a Panamera GT. Hands down the AMGs are my favorite car, not even my girlfriend that is clueless about cars will pick the P.

Are you referring to the new body style e63? Because I test drove a 2015 e63 wagon and I found it to be uninspiring, only the engine was exciting. But if you prefer it that much to the panamera and you own both I'm all ears. First time I've heard is feedback, most love the panamera more. Any more detail you can provide?
