That one Perimeter is referring to was originally bought by a speculator who wanted to flip it for $120,000 profit. Poor fella tried and tried for months but ultimately he sold it probably for MSRP just to get out of the car. The current dealer who bought it from him is now asking $30,000 over MSRP so there is no way that a dealer would buy something in that price range to make a small profit (unless of course they made a killing on something they may have sold him). It's always a shell game with dealers so you can never know. Regardless it seems like touring models that are $10K - $15K over sticker are selling within 1-2 weeks.

FYI...
2018 Silver Porsche 911 GT3 Touring

If you have it - it is collectable or "could become"
If you don't have one - it is just a GT3 without the wing and not a numbered car

Seems like an important debate here, i.e. another thread of "whats my car worth".

LOL Love these sort of threads, and my fave, most insightful, most honest reply here is from Mr. Shapiro...

"They may trend down, they may trend up....or prices will remain steady....."

There’s a white Touring coming into a dealer in my state, apparently 800 miles. MSRP of around $175k or so. I asked the Porsche dealer sales guy, what he thinks it will be priced at, he replied, ‘in the $190k area.’ I asked him why used 991.2 GT3’s, with low miles, are being priced much higher than MSRP. ‘They appreciate.’ He also said, ‘every dealer marks up GT cars, as do we’ and ‘unless you own a 918, you’re not paying msrp.’

^ it's not they appreciate or depreciate. those are terms attached to monetary value going up and down. useless
why?
its not important to understand why. it's the end result that matters.
most touring are 20-25 over msrp
if you dont like it, either dont buy one or wait until it's a car no one cares about
if you want it, then TODAY'S price is realy 20-25.
certainly there are outliers to these numbers, but the avg is right about there.

i like GT cars, i will pay for what i want now.
i also like cayenne and sport tourismo but i dont like them enought to pay $150msrp. i wait for 5 years.

so ONLY YOU can determine when and how to spend your money.

trying to predict value up down or even is a total waste of time
b/c

1 you will most likely be wrong
2 if u are not wrong, they you should spend your time predicting commodities mkt, equity mkt and fix income mkt, you return will allow you to pay for any of these car at any imaginable markup

The fact that so many cars are not available to people who will drive them is a serious turn off for some. Put me on that list. I drive my frogger. Went to a local Porsche GTG a few years ago and it drew a lot of attention. OH! A GT3 RS! AS they got closer the "ohs" changed a lot. Oh my! What are all those black marks all over the body? OPR from hitting cones. Front spoiler beat to crap too. Health reasons limited me to autocross. But not now. Really want an RS, but not so much as I wanted 3 months ago. Reason is a car in my sig.

I wish I had the problem of owning a GT3 to actually drive one, and rack up the miles. I've been in school for what seemed like an eternity, well into my late 20's. 8 years of working after having paid my dues (and student loans...sigh), I'm in a financially secure position to buy one. And I can't. Could be far worse things in life...but I really really really want one, guys! Just hard to stomach paying ADM, when my local dealer down the street from my house says they would sell me one at MSRP, if they had one.
