I am planning to stay either in Stuttgart itself at one of the PAG recommended hotels (Schlossgarten or the Graf Zeppelin) or one in Sindelfingen itself (Erikson) the night before drop off... since I dont want to haul luggage from the dropoff to the S-Bahn I will leave it at the hotel ...

I have to think Uber is available there? my thought was to drop the car of the day before I fly out of Frankfurt, and take an Uber from Sindelfingen to the train station, stay somewhere along the way overnight, maybe Heidelberg.

Uber is almost not available.. they have some laws prohibiting that service .. so the good old cab ? or rental car ... we had a rental car for the whole time over here as well .. just in case

Sounds like a few of us will be there!

Anyone going to Spa on 8/3 for the Public day? 4 * 30 minute sessions, very reasonable @ 290 EUR.
Curbstone is almost 3x the price, and Chris said it was overcrowded last time. How much are the other Spa days that people are going to?
RSR also is offering 2 Hours of track time on 8/2 for 295 EUR: https://www.rsrspa.com/blog/august-trackday-combo

I will also be at the Ring on 8/4 and 8/5, for GT Masters races both days, and to drive my own car on the Nordschleife in the evening. I may race the Nordschleife in the day too in an M235i or 325i (in the RCN series) if I can get my DMSB license renewed on time.

sorry to hijack this thread, but I also have a question on the Euro delivery.....

I am trying to do the Zuffenhausen ED for my GT3RS and Porsche "estimates" it will be the middle to end of October.
How is the weather in Germany, Switzerland (especially the mountain passes) Northern Italy at that time of year?
I don't want to do it if the Stelvio, Cortina, etc...if it is snowing or roads are closed obviously. Also if i opt for winter tires I have to return the car to Stuttgart , but my plan was Nice.

I am just not familiar with weather that time of year in the Alps...

thanks

I did ED with my GT4 from Mid-September through Mid-October in 2015 and I saw both warm weather and snow (Germany, Belgium, France, Italy, and Switzerlard). Weather can be variable that time of year (particularly in the higher altitudes). If you don't plan on track days, go ahead and opt for the free winter tires. I tracked my GT4 (in three countries), so wanted to keep the Cups. It ended up being ok, but could have easily been a problem...

I agree with Grant it can be quite variable, I went through Switzerland at this time frame with a 2012 carrera without snow tires and got caught in a snow storm, had to be pulled out by the Swiss Army. Overall a very fun experience!

3 pics from same week in early October 2015 in Dijon, France (snowy track day, but following day was warm and dry), Lake Como, and border of Italy and Switzerland:

^^ ugh, that's what I feared

does anyone know if I have them put the snow tires on for delivery and I don't go back to Leipzig, can I just ship the car back to USA on the snows?

Also, has anyone had Porsche "comp" the Cup 2's for dealership install once the car is back in the states?

I don't plan on tracking

here is a quick prelim itinerary...
