On an interesting note, my car occasionally has the smoke on startup, but it did not happen once while on the trip.
The car is filthy and has been sitting in my garage since I returned on Tuesday. I plan to spend all day tomorrow cleaning it. I have to figure out how to access the radiators, as they're covered in bugs, leaves and straw.

Well said, and I echo all of these sentiments from my own experience - the drone, tire noise, LWBs, Bose, compromises.
Lol, fair point. We also need some pic of the Touring actually "touring." Here are a couples pics for from my recent trip where I drove for 12 hours within a 20-hour span.

To be honest, I am in two minds about my Touring. I bought it as a garage twin to my 964 RS and in that function it is perfect but as a driver experience I am disappointed. It’s much noisier inside that my GT3.2 PDK. I don’t like the 4 to 5, 5 to 6 gear change. And as for the sound at street speeds, well you get a better sound from a regular GTS than a Touring. FYI, I recently discovered that the PSE exhaust flaps in the Touring work in a completely different way to a PDK. I thought (hoped) that it would be my go to car on a daily basis but instead it is now one of my last.
And yes, I have the BOSE in my Touring but not in my GT3.2 PDK.

Hi not to offend anyone, but why would one get a GT3 in Touring without the wing? I mean when i got my allocation I didn't need to think twice and to obviously not pick the touring option. I mean I feel a GT3 with the wing look so much different and more aggressive. Just my 2 cents. Anyone care to tell me why anyone would choose a touring? Im just curious..

If I pulled up next to a guy in a touring I would give him a nod of respect, thinking he was after the engine, gearbox and enjoyment without wanting to let the world know. Pretty cool if you ask me.
Is this your first GT3? If so, you should definitely get it with a wing. After having owned a few GT3s, and being offered one without directly from Porsche, it’s something new and nice to try out. If done right, it gives the opportunity to build a new 911 Porsche, with the perfect engine, and resemble the old school style. To me it has nothing to do with the R. But it gives me a chance to try the GT3 without the wing, which hasn’t really been offered before with a 9k rpm 500hp engine, GT3 suspension and near 3000 lbs weight. I don’t care if people recognize the wing so they know it’s a GT3. They’ll know anyways when I drive by. Plus any downforce difference is it not noticeable until over 130 mph, which doesn’t apply to 90% of street driving. For mostly track car, that’s why there is an RS.
There are about 23-24 911 variants. Why not one more? It’s Porsche marketing at its best...

Replace word “Touring” for “Road car” ... not sure this car was designed or intended for comfortable long journeys but rather backroads and countryside blasts
perhaps name better GT3 RC
