Default GT3.1 vs GT3.2 RS at Monza

Interesting video of a GT3.1 vs GT3.2 RS at Monza. The GT3 RS is definitely faster...but there is not much in it. Is the driver on this forum per chance?

Great driving Chris! Definitely can see the HP & TQ differences of the .2 cars. Many of those corners you'd pick the throttle up sooner, and they'd still pull away slightly.

Great drive!

Best Regards,
Dave

Nice video, looks like cars are well-matched. although Monza is such an odd track.. so much more about sheer power than most. I've only driven once despite it being my "home" track and felt like it was almost boring.. scary in parts, but at the same time boring.

Thanks for sharing. This is the best argument i have seen for keeping my .1. Not enough difference to justify the price delta.

Chris, do you have headers by chance?

Damn chris, that split pass was insane...close as it gets to wheel to wheel racing on a track day......

Rob, dont let this video be your proof that the 991.1 GT3 is super close to the 991.2 GT3 RS. It isnt and thats not a knock on the 991 GT3 - which is a fantastic car. But the 991.2 RS is another level above. All that the video shows is that Chris is agood driver, and most likely a better driver than the RS driver.

It is all with the driver! Nice driving Chris! This was an open track day?
In these cars the limit is so far above most of our capabilities, the driver’s skills has a big impact in leveling differences in power and ultimate grip. Looked like great fun!

Nice video!

Oh i definitely agree the driver is the key ingredient on track. Always will be! And clearly Chris was the better driver. Still, very good showing by the .1 and not much gap opened up on the straights, even when both cars appeared to get a pretty even jump out of a turn. The .2’s are quicker, but they won’t destroy the .1’s either. For the money the .1’s are a heck of a performance bargain. But then, so are the .2’s relative to anythng else out there by other brands.

Great cars!

Agree rob, there is no debating that the .1 is the performance bargain, as are all other porsche gt cars (at msrp anyway!)

I disagree... if you watch... you'll see multiple times Chris getting on the power earlier, and the .2's still pulling away.... that is extremely difficult from a roll. And contnued pulling up high. Chris would out brake them consistently and close the gap. But while I think the .1 is a great buy, no doubt. The additional TQ and HP of the .2, makes it such a better track car (IMO).

If the other guys were in .1 cars, Chris would have motored by them.

Best Regards,
Dave

Seems like my original post was a bit ambiguous, so just to be clear, this is not me. It’s a video I found on YouTube which I thought was interesting. I was just asking if the person who made the video happened to be an RL’er as I would be interested to get some direct feedback on the differences.

All good Dave. We can draw different conclusions from watching the same footage. We vote with our wallets.
