Interesting. At that point, just get it from the dealer? I got one for about $240 (few months ago).

I can get one locally from the dealer here as well for about $260. Might do that, but was hoping for cheaper for a plastic part.

How big of a deal are those low plastic wedges right in front of the front tires? Mine have obviously been scraped a few times and they are so low, that I don't see them lasting very long - and they seem to be part of the fender well liner - which is like $475 per side...

These hit more often than the lip, is my experience. I think most just assume the lip is it. They are part of a piece that runs from lip to mid-wheel arch liner.

I believe those pieces are separate from the liner, and are important for downforce on the front end. They and the front splitter are different between the 3 and 3RS.

They are part of the front half of the liner. At least on the GT3 (don’t know on the RS)

Yes, those wedges are part of the front half wheel liner. They are more prone to scraping than the front lip. I have some light scrapes on those wedges, used a sandpaper to smooth it out, then a clear coat paint pen to go over it. Looks as good as new.

The real question is: "do those serve any critical function?"

Mine are getting scraped badly as well. I have FAL and use it frequently, so it has to be scraping on the road or on the track. Anyone know the answer to the question above, please chime in.

You can buy a lot of chin Spoilers for the price of the FAL. Never understood the popularity of the FAL because you can buy a lot a spares for the price of the FAL. These are consumables for Porsche where they are body parts on Ferraris and other exotics. I always keep a spare and several for the Cup Car.

We are now not talking about the chin spoiler. We are talking about the plastic "wedges" at the front of the fender well liners that are ~3" above the ground - just in front of the tires. The lowest point of the car...

We put the car on the lift to look at the wedges. The theory is that I backed up over something that grabbed the plastic and tore it off - although I don't remember anything like that. Could have happened somewhere in shipping I suppose...

The big question is do I spend ~$700 to replace the fender well liner and hope it doesn't happen again, live with it as is, or somehow trim it off and modify it with a flat sheet of plastic to protect the underside of that radiator/cooler?

Passenger side is "a bit more than scraped."

Drivers side shows some scraping...

I'm amazed at how little the suspension drops when on a lift. Not much articulation for offroading!

Anyone know if the 991.1 and 991.2 front spoiler replacement piece is the same stock part? I have some old .1 ones and haven't checked if they are exactly the same spec.

^^^. This. I don't care anymore. Cheap replaceable parts. Drive it an it will get scuffed up. Same with the lower diffuser. You don't see the scuffs unless you are under the car anyway.....l
