Question about "please check oil level" on GT3
Hi,
I'm on a road trip in NC mountains right now with my son for high school grad gift.
Prior to this have about 3000 miles on the GT3 and never once did the car ask me to check the oil level.
Now every time we start the car it asks to "please check the oil level," which we have done and it is reading just fine at ~3/4 the way up the oil level indicator (green). Oil pressure also normal. Car running fine.
Yet..it is unnerving...stop for gas and it asks us again to check the oil level...
Thoughts appreciated!

Whoever coded the electronics for the oil level sensor went nuts. on My 2016 GT3RS I get a Minimum Oil Level reached warning when the level is 250 millilitres low - a quarter of a litre! The engine holds 10 litres! Add more than a quarter litre and I get an Overfill warning! Sheesh. I am told that there is a software update on the way. Maybe the 2018 GT3 has a similar overcautious system. In any event do not add more than ¼ of a bottle when you get the warning.

Try opening the engine lid for 1 minute or a bit more to reset the system...

Yeah, I got a check level message too, at the track. It was still one block above the minimum level, but added 1/4L anyway, cycled the system, and it went away. Level is now just one block under max full.
Hasn't come back on since.

I get the message also and guessed it was set on some interval that I haven't figured out yet-- # of starts between oil level checks, # of miles between checks, # of days between checks, etc...
Has always been fine; I may pop the engine lid every few trips just to see if it resets it and doesn't recur.
Jealous of what looks to be a fun road trip.....

Yeah, that message has popped up maybe 2-3 times on my .2 (a bit over 1,000 miles now on the OD now). I just figured it's some sort of preventative thing that's just for peace of mind. Oil level has thus far always been good.

That was happening to mine just before a leaky oil tank was discovered - not enough of a leak to reduce the level, just a few drops. Haven't been back to pick up the car yet so haven't confirmed if it was related. Seems to be a fairly common warning from reading here though so perhaps no relation....or you all have oil tank leaks

Mine pops up every couple of hundred miles or so- I tend to notice it happens more after particularly aggressive drives. I’ve probably checked it 6 times, says ok every time. When I spoke to my service advisor, she stated that it is more direct when it knows the oil is low, but that it likes to do the full cycle check sometimes to confirm. The last time I checked it, it was lower than previous checks, but still ok.

Thanks guys!
Car is running fine...in 3 days have logged ~1300 miles, and 3 days to go!
My 18 year old son is having a blast...what 18 year old drives a GT3 manual on the Tail of the Dragon!?
New warning has popped up; "Engine control fault. Consult a work shop. Driving permitted."
WTF?!
Car is driving fine.
My son assures me he is driving "sanely," 'cause I've never had these faults in 3,000 miles prior. My son absolutely adores this car and would never do anything to abuse it while driving; he is very sympathetic to machinery.
Btw..parenthetically...he can assure you that Dunlop Cup 2 tires in the rain absolutely suck. He is on the radio to me hydroplaning today while my 458 Spider on MPSS are just fine.

Bummer on the engine fault warning and can't help there but just have to say - that looks to be one sweet father son trip. Glad you are racking up the miles in the GT3!

Sorry to be OT (I agree with all of the above comments as I had this on my 991.1 GT3 as well)...
Just had to comment on your great taste in cars!
Is that Triple Yellow paint on the 458?
here's my two..
