Default Confused: Should I let go my 2018 gt3 for an RS allocation at sticker

Hi Guys
I waited 3 years for my first Porsche, the 2018 gt3 build to my spec that arrived on my 40th bday!
Since the msrp sticker had my birth date printed on it .. I felt this car was meant to be

Now I have to make the decision this month if I should let go my PDK GT3 for an RS allocation at sticker realizing the fact that I will never be able to recover what I spent including taxes and accessories which was more than the current base price of the new RS.

I know RS is an RS but I doubt I will ever track my cars so not sure if I am doing the right thing .. thoughts ?

GT3 is a GT3 too. An unbelievable car and the situation you're in, stick with it. The forum rat race never ends. Enjoy your car and post pics.

Every other thread lately is people who got GT3's and are now coming into the 'potential' of an RS allocation - read some of those and make a decision. Are any of them really bad options?

Why are you interested in the RS?

FWIW, I’m turning in my .2GT3 for a RS to be delivered this September. I doubt I will track very much. But visually the RS looks more aggressive and attractive than the GT3. I think it will be more fun to drive especially ontwisty roads. The car has been on my bucket list so this is a good time to pull the trigger.

That said, I don’t keep cars very long. I like to move on to the next greatest Porsche introduced.

What are they offering you vs what you paid for the gt3?

Because if they kill you on the trade, then the RS is not really at msrp is it?

But if you lose a bit on the GT3 it might be ok since RS tend to be worth more and retain value better. Hence lose a little today but that loss might be offset a few years later when you trade the
RS.

What started out as a dilemma for you has at least been downgraded to only confusion now, so you at least have that going for you.

If you don’t track, don’t bother. You won’t feel the difference on the street. Unless you want to be a poseur... Just my opinion...

Since your GT3 is PDK, I'd upgrade. Can't beat that cool look of NACA duct on GT3 RS.

BTW, did you write something similar before or am I just having a bad case of deja vu?

Well my first thought maybe try a second tank of gas in your Birthday mobile , and second is to leave the RS potentially available to those that may use for it's build purpose on the trak , me more fun to drivem than wait on them to drive .

The RS is prob going to be even harsher than the .1 on the street. As a street car I find the .2GT3 to be a great tool with all the feel of a track machine and enough compliance to be workable on the street. If I wanted a street car I'd keep my GT3 Touring but the track is just much, much better in the RS. If you don't track, keep the GT3 I think you will happier, but hey you only live once

Depends how you view your status at cars and coffee.
Or you want a bonkers color and like people taking pictures of you driving on the highway

OP, I would get the RS if the MSRP option is available and iron-clad. If PTS was possible, I would do that too. A GT3 of any generation will never be an RS, and this is coming from someone who loves his GT3. You will most-likely kick yourself for passing up the .2 RS.
