People who understand what an RS is would not be confused. Your post is evidence that you should keep and enjoy your GT3 to the fullest.

Concur with this statement by Cobalt. OP, you are clearly hesitating on making the switch. I am not sure if there are other factors involved (ie trade in, pricing), but if you are in such confused state even before the purchase, you may
may possibly regret your decision after the purchase. Enjoy your Gt3 and make the switch down the line.

What will be interesting is how much love there is for the GT3/RS if and when they are not trading with ADM's or a decent amount below MSRP. Which will occur at some point in the future most likely.

Then it'll be a true answer of which car you would want.

Whether you're confused (which is completely irrelevant to whether you "deserve" the car or not) RS is more car, better performance and holds better value. If it doesn't put you in a financial bind upgrade immediately!

Thanks Guys...my only issue is loosing money on the trade as they are offering 40k less than what i paid for the car including taxes and accessories. I do have the option to sell the car on my own as they are not requiring me to trade my Gt3 for the RS.
Loosing on the trade or through private sale is almost like paying ADM for the RS

How can you loose money on trade. My dealer already offered to buy back my gt3 at msrp. Mine is a touring but I can't imagine pkd hurt that much value?

Now I have to make the decision this month if I should let go my PDK GT3 for an RS allocation at sticker realizing the fact that I will never be able to recover what I spent including taxes and accessories which was more than the current base price of the new RS.

I know RS is an RS but I doubt I will ever track my cars so not sure if I am doing the right thing .. thoughts ?
If the GT3 is a manual you should keep the GT3. If the GT3 is not a manual, get the RS at MSRP

I have a manual GT3 on order and recently turned down an offer from the dealership to take my GT3 for an RS at sticker. They had a customer who really wanted a 6spd... well, I REALLY want the 6spd too. If I had a PDK, I'd probably go with the RS, but 40k below sticker is just a joke. Tell them you'll do that deal if they promise to re-list the car at 35k under sticker.

Need to consider whether your state taxes the new purchase for the full price of the new car or the difference after the trade. Then it's a matter of do you want the RS enough to pay the extra money assuming that your finances are not a factor.

This.

If the OP really wanted an RS he wouldn’t need to ask the question.

Better just yo enjoy the GT3 that is spec’d and unique to you than to chase after what everyone else thinks is potentially a better car.

IMO, order the RS and enjoy the GT3 until it arrives. Sell the GT3 yourself if the dealer doesn't come up. You will get a car that is better, a year newer with more warranty and much better currency for whatever you want next. Call a Ferrari dealer and tell them you have an RS, they will get you a car sooner as it lets them call Ferrari NA and argue for extra allocations.

Ignore all the prenticous responses - I have a 2RS and 3RS incoming that won't be my track cars. People seem to forget that forums are here to share knowledge and views, especially in light of the terrible state of motoring journalism.

exactly and they are offering you less on the GT3 is why they are selling you the RS at MSRP, the deals are interconnected right?
