Default .2GT3 for .2GT3RS

My dealership has just received an extra allocation for an early GT3RS available for the first US build cycle. I can order the car however I want except no PTS or Weissach package. In return they want my .2GT3 for $13K below MSRP and I can have the GT3RS at MSRP. I would lose about $24K on the GT3 including $13K plus $11K in tax.The car I spec'ed is $217K plus about $14K in tax. In my math I'm out about $38K (24K plus 14K tax) to get a .2GT3RS. I can only have the GT3RS if I sell back my GT3 at their price. I have agonized over this deal for a week. I have until June 15 to make a decision. Half the time I'm against it because I'm not really a track guy and I'm already down $38K but another side says do it because the car is so hard to get. Thoughts or opinions? My GT3 has an MSRP of $168 and has 800 miles on it.

Have you already bought the GT3 or can you just give them the car to sell? I assume you aren't in a sales tax credit state, right? You can also consider buying the RS through a Montana LLC.

I have had the GT3 since Oct 2017. In all honesty I would spec it differently if doing it again. I did not get front axel lift or leather interior which I think this car needs. Yes ,I live in Michigan and I have to pay 6% of the full purchase price of the car. I don't really have any connection to those states without sales tax.

Second martin here. Montana LLC is a great way to save tax money if you are not faint of heart.

If no WP, I wouldn't bother.

WP is the new RS

I'd say go for it, the RS is an awesome car and you'll have a chance to spec it exactly the way that you want it now.

Is your GT3 stick or PDK? Personally, I would do it if you currently have PDK and there are options you would do differently (which you indicated there are). Plus, an RS is an RS. Go for it. YOLO.

^^What he said.

I bought a 991.2 GTS last Sept. It was in storage from Oct until April. I just dumped it for a 991.1 RS. The only thing that made me think twice was that the GTS was stick. Lost a bundle on it, but as I mentioned above, YOLO.

I can't believe you haven't pulled the trigger already. No brainer to me. Of course, this is coming from an idiot that paid ADM to get both my current GT3 and GT3RS position.

i understand no PTS, but no WP? nonetheless, i still think RS is the more coveted model, regardless of intended use

RS - you already have a PDK GT3 so I would definitely go for the RS. If you had the 6MT, might be more difficult. GL with the decision!!

Other than the terrible tax issue, seems like a fair deal.
