Do you guys think this R is a good deal?

$300k sounds about right for a low mileage R with sofas and no single mass ... but you better really love the spec and plan to keep it a long time because a car without those two options will be hard to sell (as the current seller is discovering). The SMF is arguably the most important option on this car, and the houndstooth buckets not far behind.

No.
R - LWFW, carbon fenders, Magnesium roof and some dooda's like a number on the dash. Not one of xx but one of 991.
GT3 touring or manual GT3, better motor.
I'd say a fair price for an R is MSRP.

I'd love to buy low mile 911R's for 275-300 with single mass, no nose lift, and not white/red. I think they're worth the money as a driving experience...you have to compare them to a 458 speciale in terms of flickable tail-happy tendency.
silver red, black red, silver green, white green, white anything really. black green! the 911R is a great car to drive and the single mass vs the dual mass in the new GT3 is a key differentiation. I'm also a big radio delete guy.
I'd also much rather buy from someone I know.

Rear camera requirement.
Easy to do delete anyway. Pull PCM and get delete shelf.

Only good reason to get used R v GT3T spec’d the way you want is potential for future collectibility, or if the different driving experience R offers is worth the premium to you.
But that different driving experience, as I understand it, is mostly due to the SMF. Therefore, an R with a DMF should drive even closer to a GT3T. Yes, I know suspension is tuned a bit different and R has different engine (essentially 991.1 GT3RS), but suspension differences are subjective (you might prefer GT3T), and I haven’t heard any reviewer claim the engine in the R is better than the new 4.0 in the GT3T.
Moreover, what makes an R most collectibale and likely to hold its value is the SMF and the houndstooth bucket seats, so why oh why pay $125K above price of a new GT3T for a used R without those options?

I can't quite justify it, but if I had $300K for a car I would jump on a dark color, LWB, SMF R. I haven't even driven one, and I know the engine isn't as "strong" as the new one, but everything about it sounds so enjoyable to drive.

Heh, I hate the value side of it. My only reason for wanting prices to come down is that it might shake some loose from collector's vaults, and people can go drive them without worrying about losing value.
The 911T could have even been this car. Just a pure driver's car setup exactly like the 911R but give it less power or something. But make it light, not 15lbs lighter or whatever the 911T is.
Back on topic though, since it doesn't have the SMF or LWB then a GT3T is likely going to be a better car. I think for both driving enjoyment and collectibility (ugh) you want both SMF and LWB.

For $300,000 I would be driving a Performante not an R
Is it worth it- since you will be banging out 10,000 miled a year buy a Touring and save yourself $100,000
