Particulate filter power loss.

Only if they want them to be easily removable. Could be bolt-on with a few bolts or welded-on to a large part of the exhaust you wouldn't want to replace. Big difference when it comes to mods. And may require tuning to reap benefits of their loss. And could be large fines if caught. Will be interesting...

Well, I'm not sure what this means for a Normally aspirated car, but reading this blurb on the new BMW Z4 and the impact of an EU car with Particulate Filter, and a US car without doesn't spell great for the addition of a particulate filter.

Power comes from the same single turbo, twin-scroll 3.0-liter B58 straight-6 engine you'll find in Bimmers like the M240i, with Z4-specific calibration. But unlike the European version that gets stuck with a particulate filter for their tighter emissions rules, Stateside-bound Z4s will enjoy a juicy 50-horsepower gain that brings total output to 382 hp, while torque is a thumpy 369 lb-ft.
Best Regards,
Dave

Maybe the 520 hp quoted for the 991.2 GT3 RS is with the particulate filter.
And all the ROW cars that ship without particulate filters have engines that are detuned to match the EU 520 hp output.

My concern is that with the restricted space they will use some combined filter/cat system that won’t be so easy to remove. At least without have error codes popping up.
It would seem that the confusion over the sound of the new 718 GT4 may be related to the gpf muting the exhaust giving a bit of a turbo sound.

All these posts make for pretty depressing reading if you live in Europe as i do..To reiterate my stance, if the post September 1st RSs in Europe are fitted with GPF resulting in a noticeable power loss then Porsche IMO will never build a Nasp GT engine ever again..The more i think about it the more likely that there will be no more RSs for Europe after September..The lucky few which got an allocation in the first batch are sitting on an appreciating asset..
On the other hand all this might be scaremongering and Porsches genius engineers will be able to overcome the GPF's restriction, but i'm not holding my breath..!

I also think this will herald the arrival hybrid-NA engine GT cars. The other option, might be higher revving engines but that is unlikely.. If you restrict breathing that ***** everything up.
9500rpm hybrid assist 992 GT3.. you heard it here first folks. (No you didn't.. of course)

seems Porsche is going to fit current 911 (turbo) models with GPF, the lower the average fleet emissions the higher the probability to go on with NA for a small % of production like GT's.
Just my opinion

991 GT3 RS MK2 for Europe
I heard from a Porsche customer who was given an allocation for an RS MK2 in Europe that his delivery was modified (from the original one after the summer break) to an earlier date in July, in order to avoid the september 1st deadline ... I do not know if this is widespread policy on EU deliveries or just a casual stroke of luck for him.
