Anyone able to buy GT3 at MSRP
#76
I find it interesting that people are putting deposits at the dealership 2-3 years before the car is even released. How is this possible? Can I randomly walk in any dealership today and ask if I can put a deposit for a future 992 GT3 ?

yeah once you've been identified as a "sucker" it becomes much easier to be a sucker over and over and over again - at this point in time given that I've proven that I'm a sucker it's much easier to obtain/discuss high end cars with most any dealership (Ferrari for example is quite happy to let me test drive their cars when I arrive in a GT3, but not so much when I was driving a Honda Accord…)
the key is get "sucker" tattooed on your forehead by having engaged in a previous purchase

I reached out after about a year or so when they announced a 991.2 GT3 would be produced just to check in. I probably checked in maybe 4-5 times in the course of 2-3 years. Then randomly got a call from the GM who told me he had an allocation for me. Ive never even set foot in the dealership nor have I met anyone there, so crazy they were that willing to give me an allocation. The friendliness was pretty crazy.

All of my 991 GT cars at MSRP, my 996 and 997 GT cars were under.

My new favorite thread. Mine will be at MSRP or I won't get one. I put down my deposit over a year ago and if I don't get the .2 GT3 then I'll try to get the next or the next or never but it will have to be at MSRP.

So if everyone else is able to get the "next" GT3 at a discount below MSRP (see, e.g., 996 GT3 generation), you're still going to stick to your guns and pay exactly MSRP?

Martin, to be honest, sort of. I have lived in the state but honestly not for very long. I have moved like 3 times since I originally reached out to the dealer, and the salesman I originally worked with left the dealership.

My guess is there are more people that got MSRP cars vs those that paid over....we as a community talk more about ADM (much more) than not. Plus there are A LOT of GT owners that just aren't on Rennlist....and many are long time Porsche customers with good relationships with their dealer....
Regardless we wouldn't have half as many threads as we do if we banned the words ADM and MSRP....

Seems you guys have the same issues we are having in the uk
Basically it is almost impossible to buy any GT cars at mrsp without a certain level of previous business with a dealership or money under the table 🤷*♂️

Speaking of that, thoughts on a 991.1 2014 E engine 18k miles $120k ($150k MSRP) has lift and tank and some other goodies. Was a 2014 stop order/new engine one. CPO, aug 2014 in service date.
Is the E engine just destined to fail?
