Two very very different beasts, both of which are amazing cars in their own right IMO

TTS more comfortable, 4 seater, AWD, more plush, great DD-ability, PDK only, obviously turbocharged. GT3T more emotion, NA engine (rare today), 2 seats, RWD, 6MT only, maybe more "fun" for weekend drives or the track, not as great of a DD IMO especially in wet or rough roads as suspension is stiffer and tires will be Cup2s instead of MPS4S or P Zero on TTS

I had this dilemma when considering my next purchase, considered the TTS for about 5 seconds before voting with my wallet and going for the GT3 with wing

Not going to get into resale, appreciation, speculation, or values...these are both cars at the end of the day meant to be driven and enjoyed

The "what's the best 911?" is a tough questions these days. The 991's are all so competent in their own little niches. Obviously, everyone has their own ideas about what 911 works best for them. But "what's the best 911?", all things considered, is a good and proper question. The regular C2 964 and 993 are burned in my mind as the way I want a 911 to feel. I'm driving a 997 GTS now. That too, feels like a 911. How do those translate into the 991 line? For me, it's been the GT3. I don't own a 991. I'm shopping them now. I've tried about everything, from TT to GTS to GT3 and regular C2S. The GT3 (wing or not) feels the most 911-like, in my experience. I want to love the Turbo, but driving it is not particularly exciting. It's cool. It's just not the best 911 right now.

Agree with above. I have a 993 that will always in my garage. It has soul for days. The smell of the old carpet, the metal "clink" of the door closing, the mechanical sound of the engine at stop light. Just the best. 6 years ago I got a 997 TT. Loved it as my DD until I traded it in for a 991.1 TTS in '15. TTS is lux + beast. I could literally drive that car across the US and back and never think twice. As comfortable as it is fast and 991 is such a refined version over the 997 in every way. I've added cobb tune, headers + exhaust and a few other bits to give it some growl, but it's still a grand tourer.

I have a '18 GT3 on order in PTS and 6MT. TTS will go when that comes in. I can't wait. I want NA, raw and a 9k redline.

Traded my 991.2 TTS on a 991.2 GT3T and the DD vs Driver comments above resonate true.
TTS may have been faster in straight lines and launch was an eyeball rattling thrill... the first few times. It became a one-trick-pony that never really excited.
While happy to have owned and had first hand experience with the TTS.. the GT3T is where I need to be.
Could not be happier. No regrets!

Very well expressed. In terms of "area under the curve" for enjoyment, the Turbo is bigger. It almost never thrills as much as GT3, but it's enjoyable in a much broader range of situations. If I had to have one car that was not tracked, it would be ... Cayenne, though (was going to write Turbo but then realized it was not true )

I think I'm gonna call bs on that GT3 roll race against the TTS.
Either that, or that TTS was a dud from the factory.
