Default Best drives for GT3 road trip central-south California

I realize I’m late in asking, but my girlfriend just got this weekend off and we’ve got 3.5 days to do a road trip this Friday-Tuesday between LA and Monterrey in my GT3 and as I’m new to California, I was hoping you guys could recommend some of the best driving roads (and views) between LA and Monterrey?

thanks.

I was told about an app called, "GTS Routes". It apparently shows some of the best driving routes around the area you select. I haven't played with it much, but I've heard good things.

Start on hwy 23 in Thousand Oaks
23 to 126W
126 to 150
150 to 33
33 to Lockwood Valley Rd
Lockwood to Cuddy Valley Rd
Cuddy Valley becomes Hudson Ranch Rd
Hudson Ranch to 166
166 to pickup 33 again
33 to 58
58 to 101
101 to 41
41 to 1
1 to Monterey

33 / 58 / 1 are possibly some of the best roads I've driven anywhere in the world.

Good website
http://www.motorcycleroads.com/best/?c=80

We just did a road trip up CA. Not positive the numbers but we did 5 north to Frazier Park. Great roads up and ended going through Taft through Atascadero and over to Half Moon Bay. Then really ran up 1 for a while until we cut back East into Leggit and the Redwoods

Highway 1 is closed until at least September North of San Simeon.

Hi, this is a fantastic Porsche road, I live in Santa Barbara and have done it several times. The next best thing to Angeles Crest Hgy.

Take 101 to Ventura, then the 33 to Ojai and on to the 166. Go west on the 166 and after 10 or 15 miles the road transforms into a wonderful driving experience. The drive on the 33 beyond Ojai is excellent also. In Santa Maria continue on to Monterrey.

A little out of your way but I recently drove the road from Yosemite to Fresno and it was breathtaking. Beautiful scenery and I wish I was in a GT3 (rather than an SUV). Coming off the mountain the road twists and turns for miles.

This sounds like a great drive! Would I be missing out on the best part of the drive if I skipped the Lockwood to Cuddy Valley Rd to Hudson Ranch Rd part and went straight from 33 to 166 to 58? Or is the 33 and 58 the best part?

Also, what do you recommend between the 58/101 and Marin? I'll be doing the drive from SF to Orange County in a few weeks so this info is perfect.

HWY 33 - Yes, high speed run w/no cops

But don't miss HWY 25 North to Hollister - exceptional fun, my video there

I put a rental Caddy CTS into limo mode on the 33 about a year ago, while picking up my 6.9 from Mooty.
That was a lot of fun!

Trying to get back there, love those rides...

Lockwood/Cuddy Valley is pretty epic but it would not be the end of the world if you re routed as noted.

After 58, check and see where the closure is and consider taking Naciamiento-Fergusson Rd to 1 instead. 75% is awesome. The last 25% is very slow and super twisty but the view is simply spectacular.
