OT - 996 GT3 RS

I have recently taken a strong fancy to 1988 Clubsports. Effectively an RS by any other name during the barren non-RS years of '74 - '91.
So that will most likely be my next purchase after the .2 RS arrives....assuming I can find a good one at the right price....which is always the challenge with these older cars.

Congrats - what a gorgeous 911, the white with Mexico blue is stunning. Eager to hear your driving impressions and how the older GT cars compare with the new stuff.
Enjoy in good health!!

Gorgeous car... looks perfect!
I wonder if in 20 years people will change their opinion on the 996’s looks. The Ducati 999 was most of the Ducati faithful, but now people look back at it and understand how wrong they were. It’s aged very well, just like your 996 GT3RS!

By your comment I am guessing you are in the US. Like a bunch of other things, you guys do a lot of odd stuff like calling cars that are made 2017 as 2018 cars. In Europe, the only thing that counts is the year of manufacture as it should be for you guys too. I collected my GT3.2 in August 2017, hence the year 2017 in my signature.

Also, there were a total of 680 996 GT3RS made and only 150 of thos were RHD and less than 50 of those were white and blue. So it is one of the rarest GT3s ever made. In the same league as the 997.2 4.0 IMHO.

i am from a RHD country so driving a RHD car in a LHD Europe doesn’t bother me.

Congratulations on your purchase, looks lovely! Old skool is definitely very rewarding and don’t discount the 2.7 RS. The quintessential 911 and every bit as good as they say. Drive a well sorted car and you will love it as a road car.
Do please post up some more pics and driving impressions.

I still prefer the White/blue one..IIRC there were only two 996 GT3 RS's for sale in the UK early this year, the White/red one i saw at Cardiff OPC and the White/blue one at JZM...I presume this is the one you bought..?

Congrats - great looking car! Not sure if you subscribe to Stout’s 000 publication, but there are great articles on 996 GT3’s last edition. It would be worth having this to go with the car. They won GT class 7 yrs in a row - take THAT, fried-egg critics!
