Default Should I trade my GT3RS in for GT3 touring?

I have a 2016 GT3RS that I paid like 230 for. I like it but I really miss stick and love the GT3 touring. I am getting sick of the big spoiler on the RS and the uncomfortable bucket seats.. My dealer just got a chalk touring spec'd beautifully the sticker is 175k, It looks like they're going for around 40-50k over sticker... They want my car and 35k effectively valuing my RS at 180k which I think they'll sell for 199. It Doesn't look like the RS is going for anymore than 200. Do you guys know how many tourings will be made? Do you think it'll hold its value? Is this a bad deal in what appears to be the lowest ever market for the GT3RS. I love the touring but I still don't want to feel like I'm getting a bad deal... I am not the porsche appraiser that I think many of you are! thanks

Not sure what the MSRP is on your RS build but I would think you could sell it for sticker as that seems to be the going rate.

Either way I still voted no. I would have picked hell no if that was an option.

The $40K-$50K over for Touring sounds VERY high.

With only 2K miles on RS, I'd say "hell no" as stated above.

They should trade the Touring straight up for the RS really. Maybe $10K out of pocket MAX.

They'll get more $$ for RS over Touring anyway.

It sounds like the dealer has everything going his way on this deal. Shop around. Like is short but you might want to go slow and see if the Tourings loosen up a bit.

You could likely get a far better deal on a real GT3 with manual transmission and sofa seats.
Or the touring package option at another dealer, private party, etc.
Your "deal" sounds like you are taking it in both ends.

100% NO. Put it this way. If someone came up to you and said he’ll trade his 991.2 GT3 Touring for your RS, but he also wants an $50K-$60K in addition from you, would you accept? Because that’s essentially he deal the dealership is offering you.

If your answer truly is yes, then let me know and I’ll go and buy one of those marked up Tourings and trade with you and give you a “good” deal by only asking an extra $30K.

Essentially it it would mean I’m getting an RS for $170K.

I have a Touring incoming so clearly think very highly of it. Despite that, you're getting screwed on this deal. I would have a hard time picking between a Touring and RS if they were priced the same, but add in $40k on top of that and it's a no-brainer.

Thanks guys, thats what I figured.. I wouldn't say Id be getting "screwed" in this deal but it certainly isn't good. I just was not familiar at all with what the tourings are going for. All I saw was 1 on eBay asking 40k over so I figured that was about the market for them. Also, I don't see the GT3RS's going much lower than sticker any time in the near future. I think they will come back up especially low miles like mine. Definitely not doing this deal, but frigggin LOVE the touring!

I would easily trade my manual GT3 to you for your RS + $50,000. Would you really give me your RS + $50K cash for my manual GT3? Wow. Hell yes, PM me.

lol yes, thats exactly what they're offering. Well not 50-60, but 30-40k. I just had no idea what the market is for these tourings and really love them. Thats why I came on here to ask. I honestly would probably trade the RS for it straight up but Im not paying them 40k. My RS sticker is higher than the touring sticker and very low miles. Bad deal. Maybe Ill sell the RS privately in a year or so when it rebounds and pick up a touring... thanks for your input!

Hats off to you for coming here FIRST and getting the real news rather than the dealer hype.

I'd say trade for touring from rs if they give you a fair deal.

But the dealer gave you a pretty unfair deal.

The dealer should be giving YOU a Touring and cash for the RS. I have a Touring incoming, and believe this is a bad deal. The Touring hysteria will die out. Patience

If you want a Touring. Sell your RS for close to MSRP and buy a Touring. Going rate is approximately $25-$30k over. You should break close to even plus your TTL.
