991.2 gt3 dilemma

I have had the gt3 pdk for the past 6 months and have only put 1k miles on in. I previously had a 991.1 gts manual that I daily drove for 2 years. I put about 25k miles on it during those 2 years. I love the gt3 so far but find it less usable partially because I don't have a back seat now and I have 2 young kids and partially because I got the car right before the winter. The roads in New York haven't been rehabbed enough to drive the gt3 to work yet. The other reason the gt3 isn't as usable is that I got the buckets. They are comfortable enough when I'm in them for my hour commute but not as easy to get in and out after injuring my back a few months ago. I have been considering trading it for a 991.2 4s. Dealer offered me 153k for trade. The msrp is 163k. Thinking if I should just do it or just force myself to drive it more. The act of driving it is quite an event. It's all the other life factors around it that complicate it. Any thoughts?

Obviously the GT3 is not for you, wish buyers would really think hard before pulling the trigger. With that said, if your happy with the price trade/sell to dealer. If buying another P car, the trade credit makes offer more attractive. Look into the Turbo S, it has back seats and comfy front seats. It is also AWD which is desirable in NYS for rainy weather.

trade it.

Trade it if it’s not for you but up the trade value. That car will sell for above MSRP, so ask for at minimum $160K

Life is short, don't dwell on it, and move to a car that fits your needs more. The GT3 is not for everyone. GTS is not a step down, just fits your needs more.

Buckets with PDK will sell easily, don't settle for such a low trade in. I'd consider selling it on my own if I were in your shoes.

In terms of what you should do - drive it a bit more and then make a decision. Roads in NYC are still crap and isit been raining a lot. Give it a few weeks and if after you drive it hard and you still feel it's not worth it, then trade her in. No point in having a car you don't really drive.

Agreed with the others here. A GTS or Turbo is a better fit. The joy you get out of actually driving and using a GTS or Turbo will be far greater than the pleasure of merely owning a GT3.

By any chance is your GT3 white with black satin wheels with red stripe? There is one sitting in a driveway near where I live in Westchester County and I haven't seen it move in months.

I would trade it, but put pressure on them to take it back for more money, and sell you the new one for less. It's a costly mistake, but if you are a good customer, they may work w you to minimize the damage, all while making $$ at the same time.

Don't take anything else than MSRP from the dealer. If you don't get that, sell it on your own.

Does NYS do trade in sales tax reduction? I forget...never traded a car when I lived there.

And if it doesn’t work for you, get rid of it. No shame there.

Bring it to the track and never look back! That's where its very very special.

Yes
NYS offsets the sales tax towards trade. 8.75% sales makes the trade numbers work if OP gets another P car.

Find a good spine surgeon and get your back fixed so you can drive it more.
