Just get another car for commute and kids. Like a GTI, 340i, M3 or whatever, depends on how much $$ you want to spend. Enough power, comfort and space.

Enjoy the GT3 as a toy, instead of a transportation tool.

^This. I have more miles and dealers want to give me msrp for mine.... they would sell it for 10-15k over, at least especially in hotbed markets.
But ^these two are a better solution propositions.... if feasible for the OP.
