Help choosing a 991.1 GT3
Hi everyone, I have narrowed my choice to two cars but I am not sure how much taboo is there with the 2014 cars. They seem to be selling ok because the choices are getting slimmer by the week. Both cars have similar options and are only about $4,000 apart in price. The 2015 still has the original engine. I would typically go for the lower mileage car but being a 14' I'm not so sure.
option 1 white 2014 with 13,xxx full leather, sofa seats, pretty much all the basics front lift. $129,xxx
option2 Gt silver 2015 16,xxx full leather, carbon fiber bits, sofas, basically the same as the other car. $133,xxx
Thanks, mike

I would take the newer car. More warranty left over. 3,000 miles is nothing when you are looking at 13k vs. 16k. Plus I like carbon fiber....

Go with your gut. When shopping/comparing multiple cars, for me personally I often know that there is one my "gut" prefers after looking at all options and I'll go with that. These aren't sensible decisions anyway but rather emotional ones.. so go with the car that gets your juices flowing!!

From memory the only differences from MY14 to MY15 were the availability of LWBs which neither has and Sport Chrono for 2015 included the track precision app. You didn't mention if either has SC or if you care about the app. Sounds like you already know the engine situation. For me it would probably come down to the cumulative difference in PPI and due diligence. Carfax on both is clean? The 2014 likely shows the engine change. Some 2014s were buybacks and I have heard some have branded titles. Mileage is similar but general condition could be a factor- tires, brakes, wheels, windshield, PPF, signs of track use, etc. If all things were truly equal I would always pick the newer model year. GT silver is a nice color. Best of luck.

Thanks for all the reply's. Unfortunately both have SC which I'm not really hot on. The 14 was delivered in October of 2014 only two months before the gt silver car that was 12/14 . I really appreciate the input.
I was hoping for a few votes for the 2014 it looks like a real clean one. I think I'm going to fly down for a look. From what I have read here over the last few years both cars a similar shot of needing a engine in the future.
Thanks.

Choose the one you like. All the 14's will have replaced engines. All the 15's will have their engines replaced within the next years. Common problem, so buy which one that speaks to you.

Go with the one owner car with lower miles. Between those two, I would choose the 2014 at $129K. One owner, one dealer suggest excellent & complete service history and records. There is no difference between the ‘14 & ‘15s. The engine warranty issue is moot with both cars.

Plus, White is a lot nice than plain old silver.
