Yes, the 245 R7 Frt and 305 (New) are the perfect size. I did just get a set of the new 'wider' 335 rear... and they are BIG! I haven't mounted up the set up yet, but will look to later this winter.

Agreed... the new 305 fits great, and hooks up incredibly well!

I'm ready to hear much less "are they street legal or not" (they absolutely are street legal, but ill-advised) and much more performance feedback. Especially vs Cup2 and actual cycle performance. Any updates from the track?

I just ran 265 fronts with 335 rears on my 991.1 gt3 at the recommendation of Brian Ringwelski at competition motorsports. No rubbing at all under full compression. Camber set to -2.5 all around using shims. My hot tire pressure target was 38 psi. Set my best times ever at Heartland Motorsports Park in Topeka in suboptimal conditions (cold weather, some water on the track from melting ice so had to dial back a bit). Traction vs cup2 is an order of magnitude better and immediately recognizable. Ran 5 25 minute sessions and they were good the whole time. Based on wear I would expect another 1-2 track days out of them.

I ran a new set of Hoosier’s a couple weeks ago at VIR and got some good comparisons vs. MPSC2 tires in similar conditions. I only got one clear lap on Hoosiers but they definitely have more grip.

I ran a 2:02.8 on the MPSC2 and a 2:00.0 on the Hoosier R7.
I am running them at 36-37 hot and wear looked pretty good after 4 25 minute sessions. I still need more front camber as I only have -2 while I am waiting for my camber plates.

I was consistently 4 seconds a lap faster at Sebring.

I assume anyone using the 20" Hoosiers would be using the OEM wheels. Been reading a lot about the Hoosiers spinning on the 19" wheels, leading to vibration from loss of balance.

Before I look like a smart *** asking the tire guy to use hair spray when the mounting tires, are any of you using OEM wheels and 20" Hoosiers experiencing the tire spinning on the wheels?

Thanks!!

That's VERY fast for a GT3 at VIR. Kudos to you! I know you were dying for that extra .1 second!!!

Haven't had the tires spin on the OEM 20" GT3 Wheels.

I ran both R7 and A7 tires on my 996.2 GT3 before and never had any spinning.
BTW as to whether it is legal or safe to drive the Hoosiers on the street/freeway, I can say that at least in Southern California, go to any SCCA event and you'll see people pulling up on Hoosiers and people have done that for tens of years and never an issue. I used to drive around in Hoosiers (again here in Socal and not if rain is in the forecast), and the only issue I had was the tires would throw too much rocks and debris back and pretty much sand blasted them. So if you run them, be sure to put clear bra on the back wheel wells, or at the very least painter's tape while on track.

Sorry to bring this back from the past —

What’s the latest on the most square fitment on the 20in 991.2 gt3 oem wheels, for the R7? Is it the 245/35 and 305/30, or is everyone upsizing one size?
