1.2 GT3 rear suspension clank when jolted/unloaded??

I have the same noise too, usually during rebound damper stroke. I suspect it's more amplified by a rollcage as the noise is transmitted from the chassis into the cabin via the rollcage. Having built track cars from before with solid ball joints, I suspect it's the ball joints in the top mount of the rear coilover or one of the several ball joints making the noise, which is normal.

Will be springs on rear end when compressed causing noise. Springs have been changed since Jan 19. Your OPC will have a bulletin on this. There is a protective coating around top of spring on new ones

I have my GT3 at the dealership now waiting on new coil springs. There is a service bulletin for the problem for all GT3's produced before Jan 2019. Springs have arrived now waiting on bolts.

My car is currently at the dealer getting this done under warranty. I’ll update when I get it back and see if makes any difference. Didn’t hear much until the roll bar was installed and even then it’s only heard over speed bumps.

Does that require a new alignment?

My 2018 GT3 is not making this noise. I have been listening for it...so far nothing.

So I went for a drive this past weekend (991.1 GT3 RS), and hit an area of the highway, where the asphalt was scraped off, and as such there was a big dip from the smooth asphalt surface to the scraped portion. On the way back, and specifically on speed bumps and uneven surfaces, I noticed a very loud metal clunking noise. It sounded like something came loose and was swaying into another metal surface and clunking. Took to dealer who immediately blamed the roll bar. Sent to body shop (Dealership has 2 locations for garage and body shop) where they denied it was roll bar sounds, and to prove the fact actually removed the whole cage and sent back to dealership garage. When they had a closer look and actually paid attention to the matter, turned out it was the stabilizer bar (Sway Bar) end links that needed tightening. They also claimed that the rear wing was also causing a sound when in idle and tightened that up too. I test drove the car just around the dealership on bumpy roads and sound is gone. Waiting to get the car back to drive and test again when hot to ensure sound is gone.
