I would expect the BBS Mg to be the lightest metal wheels on the market for GT3. If a tuner produced a lighter aluminum wheel, I would have serious concerns about strength/durability.

was just told by Porsche yesterday. Even if you order the WP and your build is before FEB you will have no option to add on the MAG wheels after the fact...

I would tend to not agree with that but even if so, worst case scenario is you buy from Suncoast just like the Carbon wheels. I'm sure that they will allow WP buyers get the Mg wheels next year. The supply problem coupled with the whole Euro Particle filter shenanagins and finishing up GT2RS has created an unanticipated confluence of problems for early adopters. I don't think this is a Porsche political problem ala the Touring/deviated stitching -911R issue

I didn't believe it either. Was shown the communication VIA Porsche internal chat board and it said they will not be available after the fact... However, if i can't get them, I am planning on going that route or buying from BBS... I was very surprised to see this.

Maybe Porsche just bailed on the whole deal with the supply problems. Early adopters will be pissed if later builds are able to spec the Mg wheels and we are not able to order them, big backlash lots of bitchin' and moanin'. if Porsche has just bailed on the whole thing and they make it exclusive to the GT2RS then that would make more sense and likely hold up. Don't see this surviving if they offer it to 2019 builds just too many dudes with money to complain and get their way......me being one of 'em!

I am with you on this. I am already bitching and moaning about it. The one of the whole reasons for the WP for me was to be able to get the MAG wheels. However from what I read, they will not be offering them as an after the fact sale, even if you have WP and this was written by someone high up at porsche exclusive. They will only be available for builds that are Feb 2019 or later... I hope this isn't the case, just relating what I read.

If this ends up being true then GT2RS owners will just end up purchasing through authorized vendors for BBS like myself. I've already had a few owners get ahead of this and order the wheels from me just in case.

So it's confirmed? These are the exact same wheels? Are they available now from you guys? If so are they in gold as well? maybe we all should just bypass Porsche AG

No they are not the exact same wheels. This was already discussed in another thread. There are some differences in design, mainly the outer lip and spokes where they meet. The spokes go out farther to the outer lip on the Porsche Mag's and the lip isn't so square. The BBS version the spokes are shorter and the lip is very square. They are not the same wheels.

Here's a side by side. Contour of outer lip and spoke are different.

The Porsche version looks very vulnerable to curbing - spokes would hit curb before rest of rim. Not that I would ever park an RS on the street
