Default leaves behind grill

So...first of all, how the heck did they get in there??

Secondly, what's the easiest way to get them out? I was thinking power wash to smithereens, then it's organic anyway so they should decay quickly.

Thanks!!

The opening to the left of the mesh grill leads to the same place where the leaves are. It's unrestricted so crap gets in easily. Just stick your hand in or using a grab tool and pick them out.

I used my handheld car dryer (or you can use a leaf blower). It's surprisingly easy to find the right angle to blast them out.

Found a dead bird in mine once. Had to get it out and disposed before wifey saw it.
