Track App
Is anyone having trouble with the track app on the 991.2 GT3.
I had it on my 991.1 GT3 and it worked great. On the new car it just won't record even though the WiFi and GPS are picking up correctly from the new car.
Could it be as simple as deleting the app on my phone and reinstalling?

Mine works perfectly., tested with both Android & iPhone, no issues. So yes, may be as simple as just deleting and reinstalling.
It even now correctly displays MPH (for the first few months it would only do KPH).
Best Regards,
Dave

The weird thing is that it worked perfectly with my 991.1 GT3.
It recognizes the track, connects properly to WiFi, but doesn't do anything once I hit start on an already added track from last season.

I would suggest that you completely de-install the app ensuring that all app data is deleted, reinstall and pair again with the .2...

I've also had this issue. The track app was very buggy in the .1... wouldn't connect would get interference from nearby GT3. Anyway it seems sometimes when an update is pushed the app quits working. I was told by PCNA to delete the app and reload. The only caveat is I lost all my custom tracks and had to recreate them. What I've done is export any custom tracks and email them to yourself and keep on your phone.

Has anyone imported new tracks or set up the app for a new track? My local track is not on the list and I will need to program it myself so I'd like to hear how difficult that actually is.
Thanks,

My WiFi connects to the car but shows "no internet" connection. Is this a problem? I don't remember from the 991.1 GT3. Is the internet connection from the Porsche connect or something? Does it need it for the track app?

The app is such trash now. I can't even use it on my iPhone X.
The latest update from 2 weeks ago says it's iPhone X optimized and fixes the export problem... NOPE.
It was definitely working with my 991.1 GT3 and it's very problematic with my 991.2 GT3. I believe it has to be in part because of the iPhone X and the lack of development from Porsche of the app.

The track module is the hot spot, and does not have a gateway to the internet. so when you connect your phone you will not have access to the internet via the WiFi. this is jut the same as if you connected to your home wifi and your wifi did not have a connection to the WWW.

So frustrating. The iPhone X worked on the 991.1 GT3 no problem.
And of course I'm waiting for the solo DL II to come out so I have no data now.
I guess that I'll just have to drive for fun!!

note that for the "no internet connection" issue you should just configure the phone to accept a wifi connection w/no internet connection - that's a feature of the phone not the app (or the car)

I've heard that the app is not working in the 991.2 GT3 because it's not getting a good signal from the PCM 4 GPS.
My XM Antenna is also showing a fault and not working.
Anyone else with the same problem?
Dealer wants to replace antenna.

If in fact the GPS and XM antennas are "shared" (same loc'n etc) then replacing it/them should give you a better GPS signal ... how did you determine that GPS quality was the problem?

p.s looking at some parts diagrams - it looks as though the GPS antennas may be separate from XM antenna... both in location and connection...
