991 .2 GT3 RS goes 6:56.4

All i can think about when watching that lap is how out of the (guess) 4,000 units of the 991.2 RS they will make literally no one who buys it will ever come close to that lap. Pro drivers are pros for a reason. Impressvie

What this video shows is how challenging that track is and how of all the tracks in the world its probably the one where the driver will have far more impact on the lap time than the car or the tires or the weather. Its great but again, I highly doubt the % improvement over other cars will come anywhere close in other tracks in the world. Porsche has a huge driver/location advantage, for them its pretty much like how a kid can sit in front of a keyboard for hours and memorize a formula 1 track in a video game and turn amazing laps.
Autobild just compared gt2rs against the overheating z06 (not even the zr1) and look how close they were. Do you honestly think gt3rs with a lot less power will be able to have a similar leap over z06 in this testing in this track like it did in the ring? Just leave the kool aid for a second and be realistic

Honestly, who cares? Track advantage this that. There is essentially no local advantage relative to Corvette. GM has spent endless millions shipping cars and personnel to N-Ring over the last 15 years because it's been a cornerstone of their marketing strategy with performance vehicles. Every OEM also runs sophisticated SIMs at home that get them within fractions of a second of their real world capabilities. Now suddenly they've discovered they don't like it, and basically handed out pre-written articles for people like Jack Baruth to say "yeah man, well we like, totally don't even care about the Ring." Lame.
All I can say is that if you can watch that video and not be excited, you don't have a pulse. Car sounds $(%*&$#@ amazing, driven with ***** of steel. It's just an impressive display of engineering and driving, and that's what you should get out of it. I don't care what is faster or slower - give me the wailing N.A 4.0L please.

You can play basketball your entire life, play in a league at your local gym/park with all the guys in your town. You can be decent, scoring and keeping up and having fun to the point you think you're a good player..........then get on the court and play one on one with Lebron (or any pro) and you'll be quickly reminded just how far you are from a professional. Same applies here. Its just calculated by our brains differently because all men drive daily and all men think they are good drivers, till they get in a car with a pro. I remember my first time in a car with a pro as a passenger. I almost broke the floorboards trying to hit a brake that wasn't there.
