"If we took out everything we’re legally allowed to we’d save maybe [16 pounds] while sacrificing a lot of creature comforts.
With an engine that makes 520 horsepower, it’s not noticeable.
It’s like taking out the A/C. It’s actually possible on this car, but it’s not something I would recommend."

This quote is refering to taking out glove box and carpet for additional weight savings on top of the WP.. Not about the Weissach package.... if that is what you are implying and I assume you were...

I'd be shocked if the take rate on the 3RS is anywhere near the 90% of the 2RS.

What's the weight spread of guys on Rennlist here??

130lbs >>> 200lbs ++

Difference in 1/2 tank vs full tank gas?

Sometimes we worry about things that have zero effect on the driving experience, when the number one variable is driving SKILLZ.

LOl, he is in for a very big surprise if he thinks 3RS.2 will be anywhere near 90% take rate especially with no Mag wheels available for the foreseeable future!! My bet is 30-40% in the end. I for one am going black/black/PCCB and have zero interest in WP as I think it makes the car look like a cheap ebay special.

I think his claim of 10% take rate for MT is low. On RL it has to be 50%.

I think the interior looks, lovely but very bling and OTT, It would look more at home in a Green Lambo, somehow the RS WP should be about weight and minimalisation. It was a shame the 911R aftermarket weight saving programme thread fell away.

I do wonder when Porsche stripped and weighed everything there was more potential savings to be had for the WP cost

My thoughts exactly. My Maritime Blue 964RS with three colour leather Center panels for the buckets was perfect. Plain black quality plastic with occasional pieces of Alcantara would be perfect for me (not that I’ll gave any chance to buy one !)

The whole point of the RS is to sacrifice a lot of creature comforts! Duh.

Shot across the bow

"We are open to everything. This is what makes the company successful, not being stubbornly stuck in the past but looking around and being open-minded."

They hybrids are coming, the hybrids are coming!
